It's almost like that, although you do have to start a new character to get into new plotlines (there are six major ones, and the thing is that events in one would interfere strongly with the timelines of the others.)
As ads suck less, I am less inclined to block them.
I don't ever block Blogads. They're relevant almost 100% of the time.
Your standard punch the fucking monkey in the balls to win a free root canal and lobotomy combo performed by a spider from Hell banner ad is why ad blockers were invented, and their mere existence is enough to make those who purvey standard size ads unworthy of my attention, ever. In my view, nearly all standard sized advertisements (banners, skyscrapers, blah whatever) are trash and get treated like the trash they are.
It's not just the anonymity that does it, it's the physical contact. If you go up to some guy in the super market and say "OH EMM GEE YOU ARE THE FUCKING GAYEST GUY ON EARTH DUBYA TEE EFF IS YOUR PROBLEM", you aren't insulated by tons of steel or miles of wire.
If you can re-interpret content freely to remove what you find objectionable, why can't you remix the material to your liking in any other way? It's a good thing for sure.
If it wasn't for the TiVo, I wouldn't watch most of the TV that I do watch. Why? Well, I am never home when that stuff is on. In fact, I don't own the TiVo- my friend does (it's a ReplayTV, but same difference.) I watch the shows at his house (in fact another friend of mine gets the shows off of the ReplayTV and watches them on his laptop.)
It does allow a real shift in how TV is watched that will eventually change the meaning of time on TV. Sure, "prime time" will still be valuable for live shows, but if everyone has a TiVo-like device (I suspect they will be standard equipment in future TVs,) every other time slot will vastly increase in value.

All I gotta say is that it takes seriously bad stars to be in the position of running against a dead man and losing.
Both parties work in the the way you described. It's funny- I started going to the Dean meetups in the early fall of 2003, and the energy and excitement was enormous. It was a very casual environment, and people of all ages were there. The meetup started with a few announcements, but after that everyone was around seeing where they could help, and finding a place where they could do something. I ended up going to New Hampshire and canvassing for Dean. The entire experience was excellent, and I was able to use organizing skills I had to help others in the campaign do better.
But I went to a meetup recently that was held for a current, long time Democratic officeholder, and the atmosphere was completely different. The crowd was completely "young professional", and there were a few major local stars of the Democratic Party present. The meetup started with a speech by a party official. Then another person got up and made a speech. Then the mayor made a speech. Then yet another person made a speech. And then the meetup was over. It felt more like a networking event for young Democrat professionals rather than the campaign-focused Dean events.
That's what happens when you get close to the structure, it seems- and I think I'm more comfortable outside of it.
I remember playing aoom on my friend's 486/25 with 4mb of RAM. We borrowed 4mb out of his dad's machine, bringing it down to 4mb itself- his dad never noticed, and Doom played far better. This was still an evil sin, however.
Yeah, I found that particularly cool

Jewish mysticism has been only peripherally explored by Japanese game designers (quick example: what's a "Sephiroth"?) and mostly as window-dressing.
Also, Catholic priests are, broadly viewed, the basis for D&D clerics.
Both the Kabala and early Christian mysticism are rich footings from which to explore religious concepts in a game- I think they're mostly ignored by Americans because it's easy to offend people that way- which is fair enough.
However, I think a game based around the book of Revelations would be utterly awesome (perhaps an adaptation of "Left Behind"? I don't think much of apocalyptic stuff but it would sure make a good game.)
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the religious concepts you grew up with aren't very interesting and don't have any real mysteries to explore. But even a cursory review of what's out there (ever hear of the gospel of Thomas?) reveals a great deal.
Damn you straight to wherever people get sent for that. There shall be a day of reckoning, and all these guys that make me measure and convert stuff in inches and feet will hear the bell toll for them.

...that the Dean campaign didn't pay nearly enough attention to what their supporters were saying.
Dean's TV ads were significantly worse than those made on an amateur level by supporters- and yet nothing was done.

I won't even try it until I get some serious assurances that this isn't going to puke spyware on my machine.

For most reputable readers, this will not be an issue at all, since the readers' designers would prefer to be able to sell their products overseas.
In fact, this saves money and works better.

It is the best piece of computer gear that I have ever bought. I expect to use this case for as long as the ATX specification is standard in mainboards. That should be your main criterion for purchasing a case- spend a good deal of money on it, because if you're posting on slashdot, you are probably enough of an enthusiast that any PC case you own will house several different boards and processors over its lifetime. This one is certain to stand up to many upgrades, and it won't annoy me by forcing my fingers into contortions or slicing them on sharp edges while I'm fixing it.
