To draw a comparison, it's like being a geneticist and not knowing who Gregor Mendel is. Or a physicist/mathematician and drawing a blank when Sir Isaac Newton's name comes up. You could be a philosopher who has never heard of Aristotle or Plato. Or a FLOSS developer who has never heard of Richard Stallman. A game developer who has never heard of John Carmack.
Keep on voting them out... What I see in the states is a 95% reelection rate. Promises are routinely made and broken, yet a win at the polls is a dead cert. It's up to us to turn our backs on the bling. If we won't do it, nobody will. What are you demanding actually? That a bunch of crooks rewrite the law? What's the incentive for them if it just cost them their careers?
And don't assume I'm speaking of you personally. You are simply in the minority, as shown by the numbers. A corporate apologist wouldn't point out that the public is a bunch of dumbasses for voting for their sockpuppets. This guy is making them sound like some heroic standout. And after reading through his other posts, he sounds like their propaganda minister, and would like to remove some basic rights. And besides, I wasn't even singling out Brazil to begin with, though it may sound like that because the story is centered there.
