echoing an earlier poster I find that my complete lack of time makes games that others probably find easy much harder for me.
While kids are able to devote a lot of time to games, and eventually become very proficient at them, I find that my adult life has far too many other commitments.
Don't get me wrong, I love gaming, but if a game is initially difficult then I cannot justify spending what little gaming time I get playing through that game. If these things had better learning curves that gradually introduced mew skills and methods then I would be able to play more, as I would feel that I would achieve more at each sitting. Instead I opt for games that I find myself able to play, and thus enjoy my limited time more.
If anyone is looking for a bite-sized game that fits into a hectic adult life easily, but can be expanded to take up as much time as you have then click the link in my sig.
Completely off topic, but what is your website? I wanted to look at the ringtones you said you had available. (I cannot reply to the correct post as I have moderated that thread)
From the article:- Blue LEDs are much more complicated to design and produce than red, green or orange LEDs, and until recently that made them expensive
Does anyone know WHY blue LED's are more expensive to make? Why are they more difficult to get working? I didnt think the colpour would make much of a difference.
I must admit I also thought metagaming meant including whole games within your own ghame, akin to The Day Of The Tentacle including the whole game of Maniac Mansion, and to a certain extent when your character in Final Fantast 7 plays the submarine game, or chocobo racing.
I think developers, especially on the PC can learn a lot from their console bretheren.
SSX3 streams in the ski slopes as it goes on the most part, it is possible to ski for a full 45 minutes, from the top of the highest peak all the way to the bottom of the beginner peak. No load waits inbetween. (There are small loads when restarting events, or doing anything that involves a sudden jump of location rather than ski-ing form point to point)
I dont know how much memory a PS2 has, but it can be nowhere near the level of modern PC's. Surely there must be some skill that transfers between the two in architecture design
Except that UT2K4 stat tracking went down about a week after release. It came back for a few days but AFAIK it is still down, last updated matches were dated March 23rd.
The exact same thing happened with UT2K3, buit in that instance the stat tracking went down for 6 months!!!!
They also had it in the first unreal Tournament, and that worked very well. It was very useful for analysing clan games after completion.
I only hope that they can restore the stats to UT2K4 in a timely manner
The problem with Boycotts like you suggest is that the RIAA will just see that their revenues are falling which they see as a result of piracy. So, they ramp up their efforts to stamp it out, leading to more boycotts, lower revenue, more effort to stamp out pirates.....
For every lawsuit filed by parents aghast at the rivacy invasion, there would be another filed by parents aghast at the school allowing their kids to surf to www.donkeypr0n.com and suchlike if this measure was not in place.
Its a lose-lose situation in that respect, and I guess the school admin is doing what they feel covers them the most.
Backwards compatability is imo one of the biggest reasons for the PS2's success.
With limited spazce available in most homes, no-one wants to have to throw away/sell all their old favourite games jsut because they have bought a better console that cannoyt play them.
It was a stroke of genius for Sony to add this feature so as not to alienate all their loyal customers.
You cite Lack Of Free Time as a reason for stopping to play (which I understand perfectly) , but then you say you'd rather manually find, download, and install game patches, rather then let Steam do it all for you overnight or something.
Its a rubbish game. The only way to win is to set it to 0 players.

RM
The original was called Ghosts and Goblin. That was also pretty hard if my copy on Mame is anything to go by.
I wasted many an hour on Impossible Mission ....
My brother wasted many an hour on Uridium.
Sorry, I must now mod your reply -1 Disappointing.
:)
Thanks for getting back to me though

I havent used iTunes myself, but I would have expected then to make allowances for track length....
Mind you, that leaves Meatloaf fans open to having to pay $10 per track since his songs are so long...
Do you get to see the track length before downloading the file?
This is probably just so that they can increase the amount of money they try to sue people for.
Instead of valuing a track at 99c for piracy values, they value them at $2.99.
That is a HUGE increase!!!
I see, they get people signed up, then hike the price. And I thought the RIAA were trying to portray themselves as the good guys!!

Its self-perpetuating.

The original poster gave the example of them trying to navigate to http://192.168.0.1/admin
That might be considered trying to breach internal network security.
Thanks ;)
Its not Windows/Windowsa users causing the problem.
Its Stupid Windows users causing the problem.
People who do not patch or blindly open any attachment in their emails.
If another OS was a widespread as Windows it would still be stupid users causing the problems.
So you think these PC's should be entierly unmonitored, letting the users search and access whatever they want?
The IT Staff shouldnt monitor attempts to breach internal security using these PC's?
I'd be interested to know what kind of performance hit this monitoring software has.
Can it recognise the phrases in different fonts/colours?
Damn, I'd done some great moderations to this thread. I didnt realise that posting Anon would undo them all.
FWIW I consider the attacks on the parent poster flamebait. If I could mod them as such again, I would.

Your flight instructor is a pirate!!!!
That is outrageous!
Valve have no right to load unrequested software onto your PC, despite any clauses buried 3 billion pages deep in a EULA that no-one reads anyway.
That doesnt make sense.
