While I agree with you that Ender's game: The game, would be a good idea, I think this game isn't any closer to reaching that point than many other similar games. The one that immediately comes to my mind is BF2142, but I know others have been done.
Also, Orson Scott Card has used other 'games' in his novels that would be very cool video game ideas. But I think most of his game ideas are pretty impossible to fulfill in our time, which might be what he was aiming for to make his sci-fi universes.
These posts are irrelevant because windows 7 comes in both 32 and 64-bit versions. The article is just talking about little worthless stickies on cases of computer shit that let dumb people know for sure it will work on windows 7 computers.
Umm... No... He is sarcastically mentioning that God may have planted this fake evidence in our earth. Are you implying that animals shit everywhere and that's what people are mistakenly studying today?
Why would more ice mean great surprising news? Is it so firmly engrained in your mind that moreice=better earth? This picture is confusing if you ask me.
I seriously doubt that all of these mega companies are "worried" that apple is going to assault their business and take them all out. This NYtimes article is just trying to make iPhones seem all that much cooler.
I'd disagree, the best textbook's are designed to get information from them more easily. It's not about some game where your not actually learning unless you are an unmotivated kid.
By extremely low speeds you mean -20 at least. The issue here is in parking lots when your not using anything BUT the electric engine and there isn't tire noise to speak of.
There doesn't need to be laws regardless in order to protect people though. Lets say injuries occur more frequently, so who cares? You get hit at 10mph and you maybe have a bruise.
A hybrid electric car will make pretty much ZERO noise, and if you've actually driven one you would know that. When driving through parking lots you can sneak up on any pedestrians very easily.
The featured article says that these competing technologies are essentially the same, but with different "politics" and brand names. Can anyone clarify why LTE would get 80% and WiMax only 20%, or is that speculation bogus?
I think you are stamping your opinion on something that isn't necessarily true with all people. I know a ton of people who never play "video games" but they loved sitting down and playing spore for a while. It's so simple and easy and cute that it appeals to a different audience perhaps than you.
I didn't have any problems with the spore DRM.
Molyneux made big hits with Fable that many people love.
I didn't like either of those Meier games.
Creationism doesn't compare to evolution in the analogy your making. Evolution is a process that is proven to happen in many different situations, and Spore reveals many of the basic parts of it. I didn't say that this game would attempt to explain the origin of life by teaching kids that they are somehow Gods that are actually creating life. Spore actually presents the creationist viewpoint in a silly and satirical fassion. It's also a fun game that opens up these topics for discussion in classrooms.
I actually feel like spore would be a great intro for kids to get them understanding basic evolutionary principles. Playing that game for 30 minutes would be a good experience for any person.
Is the situation like that? You mean, you think truckers elsewhere in the world are respected and educated? Are janitors in Europe also well educated people from universities? Hitchhiking is also considered low in the U.S. just like truck driving.
Your claim that DRM doesn't stop piracy in the "slightest" is baseless. I know for a fact that DRM affects piracy in a negative way, just as DRM hurts the company that is employing it to legitimate customers.
That's not what his statement means by any logic. What he said could be misleading since it may imply that there is someone who is going to at least one of those places. By no logic could you deduce what you have deduced.
The point isn't that they surveyed a small group of people and therefore the statistics aren't significant. If you RTFA you would see that they based the 7m number on the false statistic that 40m some people were using the internet that year when there was really only like 33.9m. They also bumped up the percentage of filesharing people based on the assumption that some people lied about whether they had programs like that or not.
Really the lesson here is to read the featured articles because the slashdot summaries as a general rule are misleading.
The government isn't there to let people survive without earning a living in society either. It's not as simple as: we have to give people money so they avoid becoming criminals.
Also, for the higher class citizens, it really is very competitive. Many times, civilized people do things to benefit themselves in very selfish ways.
You say, "You enjoy the fruits of that civilization but don't want it to protect others and call their using that protection "greed".", which is very misleading. It's not the safety net that strong citizens enjoy the fruits of, it's the free market system and greed that drives them to succeed.
You can be completely poor and still not be mortgaging your house twice and borrowing money from relatives.
Why do people keep saying 570-fold like it means the same thing as 570 times greater. 570 fold would be equivalent to 2^570ith, and thats not what Nvidia predicted.

I could listen to those two all day. That song just overflows with profoundness.

If i can't listen to quality music from my computer I'd just never listen to that artist.

Those all seemed pretty new and innovative to me. They certainly have improved the tablet market and handwriting recognition technology also.

Biggest productions from my anecdotal experience seem to make a ton more money than the movie was made with.
GET OFF MY LAWN!

DDO is doing something similar to this semi free to play and it seems to be working out quite well for them.

Well we don't really know what the actual numbers are, but no I don't have a problem with anything. The music industry has a problem!
