What was that hard drive for? Saving games? How about the broadband? Internet play? If I'm not making it clear enough as it is, MS is probably going for the patchable console we feared. I mean, they have seven weeks to begin building them, so errors are bound to happen.
This is like the box for copyright infringement. First it has all those old NES, SNES, Genisis, or arcade games that no one buys anymore, nor can find anywhere. It'll play those damn MP3's which, as we all know, just mentioning MP3's is illegal. Let's not forget that it plays movies, which are already illegal to watch in any other manner than what is already told to be correct. Lastly, let us not forget that it runs Windows in the unlicensed way; only the XBOX can have windows in console form.
I've always wanted to do something involving video games, and I've always had a knack for coding, so I've worked most of my 17 years to learn about that.
But now, with Dynamix, Loki, and God changing, closing, etc I wonder what I'm going to do.
All I can really say is for all Loki employees, I feel bad for you, and I hope for the best.

Well, I guess someone was still angry from Nintendo that you had to shoot the ducks. I'll bet he's even more pissed now that his last bastion of bird recognition has been melded with his old enemy. This hacked system is the bastardization of all that guy stood for.
I'm ashamed at the guy who did the hack; the exNinendo guy is probably jumping out a window now.
First off, I'm not a Dotcor, but rather someone that uses Opera for their browsing. While gesture navigation does take some time to get used to, I would have to say if implemented as well as in Opera, then it could effectivly reduce CTS. When using Opera, one can use the mouse to move everything and if your mouse is already ergonomic (ala my Logitech Mouseman+), then they way you move is no different that simply moving the mouse. It could reduce time typing, and movement on the mouse because of the smaller are the mouse has to travel (assuming that the PS2 rate is high enough, or if it's USB).
I wouldn't think of it in terms of what have they done, but rather who uses it. One of my favorite bands is Anti-Flag. Now, regardless of what they have done for punkrock, they are important to me, and if they change, I will care, while you may not.
Darn it, He was thurough. I wanted to be the zelot and piss and moan about how MacOS X / Darwin wasn't there, but sure enough, there it is mocking me from the bottom of the page. You like that don't you? You like laughing at me? Well, laugh at me now!!!
Well, think of the cost. In the $200 range you can get an MP3 player with 64MB of space. For $500 you can get 6GB of space. Now, think about price per MB, and the hard drive MP3 players make much more sence (that's the reasoning I used when I bought my nomad jukebox).
Alright, I'm probably the 400th post, but I don't think this has been said.
I was a prodigy child. I excelled in math, science, and computerse (which I had a strong interest), but I now, I'm a junior in High School, and I have 4 friends to my name. I was never taught any social skills, and barely any of the arts (I've recently dropped c++ for poetry). I turned anti-social and very very quiet. So I walk around scareing everyone; I'm a smart punk (political reasons), that never talks (they just don't know I that I just can't). Everyone thinks I'm psycho.
Now, after that tangent, make sure that he learnes to talk to people and interact. Take him to a busy part of town and describe what he sees without using anything left brained. Ask him how his day was and let him carry the conversation. Or even ask him to tell his parents about something technical, but tell him to see if they loose interest and tell him to change subject if they do (or change what he is saying).
I may be in my 2nd semester of my 4th year of college CS, but I've been struggling for social acceptance since day one.
The way I see it, is now we have 3 major players in the video card ring: nVidia/3Dfx (I will never use their new names), ATi, and Matrox. Now, ATi has a very large market share and I don't see them failing anytime soon, but their going to have to make the best card they can in as little time as possible. Matrox has the best 2D cards around, and they keep getting better (DualHead anyone?), but 2D is becoming less and less of an issue. So with the nVidia and 3Dfx buyout, we, basically, have one company left in the 3D arena. Since all their competition is gone, maybe we don't need this six month cycle any more. Perhaps we could return to the older and less capitolistic year or two year cycle.
The way I see it, video games are about as realistic looking as they can reasonably get (if you have a 1Ghz+ box). So we now need mundane features (t-buffer) instead of fill rates.

Okay... so they are emulating DOS emulated from Windows emulated from Mac and emulated on Linux?
*head explodes*
you mean something like Glide? Hell, they own 3Dfx now anyways.
you know, this looks alot like a SimCity map.

yeah, but it's not too tall, so I can see it's use in long lines.

I think the author did that nicely himself; flerbage count in the article: fourteen.

But, I knew some one would throw some light on that issue!

I swear I sat there looking at the for a while wondering what Taco was doing in the Netherlands (or rather, what he's not doing in the Netherlands).

IANAL, but I remember a little think in the DMCA saying that ISPs can't be held liable for their users activities.

It's annoying enough to have people that can't drive while on the phone but now we have people engrossed in games while on the phone while driving?
