Now mandrake move looks a cool idea in storing all the files on the move however what would be even better is a system which boots from a USB device. Now that would be cool
I agree its not worth that much but I think those prices don't include a monitor but that would still be only 500. Of course there is a P4 2.6Ghz which is 800 which is what they might of picked up.
Well as you are meant to take a break every 30 minutes or so just get a cup of tea whilst the adverts are on. Anyway I've ordered mine. Lets seem what happens
Well it would be nice if there was firmware for the Archos Jukebox Multimedia but speaking to the people who devloped Rockbox they said that its just to hard. Have to wonder why. Oh well its all fun
When filling out online forms its always worth putting "tagged" address like slashdot@domain.org, linux.com@domain.org. That way if you get spammed you know who sold your email address
You can have all the cyber security (firewalls, IDS ) etc you want however there is still the risk of someone just stealing a laptop and getting access to a load of secret files.
Your security is only as strong as your weakest link
Well I wouldn't be surpised if winamp was sold to microsoft and they merged it into media player, or just killed it. As for Netscape commercially it might be dead however mozilla is still going strong
Well we will have to reroute main engine power through the deflector dish to create a graviton feedback wave which will in turn allow us to turn the radiation into a non-harful form of chocolate
This is not a bad idea though it could be abused. However what the author doesn't seem to realise that open relays may only account for 25% of spam. The rest comes via open proxys which mask the connection and mean that the mail server is receiving an SMTP session from a valid IP address. It might help a bit but at the end of the day the only good solution to fix spammers is hit them where it hurts in the pockets.
I have to wonder how easy/hard it would be to get a 3d controller that works well enough allow a user to move through the desktop and select windows. The pratical limitation I can see are that if you went for a glove type interface which sould seem obvious how long would it be before someones arm got tired
Whilst its nice that some people offer free hosting (and we do for a couple of projects) ask what they are getting in return. Some companies are happy with a text link saying "hosted by...". However watch out for popups.
This is one thing that will help companies except open source is support. Companies are scared of open source to some degree as if something like OO goes wrong there is no-one who can offer support there and then.
Its nice to have someone to speak to on the phone who know what they are talking about as well as sometimes having someone to blame
Programmers take a logical series of instructions and then type the correct order and software comes out and most of the time works well.
Project managers take a logical series of instructions and then managed to screw the order up so beyond beliefand have to wait for other people to sort it out. As such everyone has to work harder

Well thats increased the kernel by about another 5-10%. However I would say I do like xfs and its proven quite stable now.

Isn't this the sort of thing outblaze.com does and has some very good filtering

Kneecaps are to quick and not painful enough. You want something more drawn out. Prehaps electrodes attached to the testicals

If the spammers just bounced of a number of open proxies and keep rotating around them I can see how it will just become worse.

Then again hopefully most hosts can be trusted
