Uber can't hire any decent people. Only desperate people who let's just say aren't from around here. I can't even imagine that 10% of Uber drivers make enough money to profit on. The only way Uber makes a lot of money is screwing drivers, and avoiding regulations and when they can't they just leave.
I dunno, maybe you don't live in London, but most of the Uber drivers I've had are more than decent and from around here not to mention make enough of a decent living to remain living in London. On top of that as a customer, it's cheaper than both mini cabs and taxis and a whole lot less hassle too. Up to the present time, I've only seen the upside of Uber.
And for the record, these new rules about English are being pushed through by TfL who in turn have pushed them through because the taxi union has a rather large say over there. They're bitter because technology is eating into their core business.
Mate, most people moved to hacker news and like most communities online, people migrate. As for systemd, this place is definitely anti. Not sure what you've been seeing but it's definitely not support. Understanding? Maybe. Support? Not in the slightest.
Those poor Christians - they rape children, drone civilians and plunder, and the whole world doesn't want to live with them!
What's wrong with the whole world?
Don't confuse Adblock Plus for Android (an app) with Adblock Plus for Firefox for Android (the Firefox extension). ABP for Firefox for Android works as it would on desktop.
Sun was the victim of the horrible management of a sub-par business model. Releasing the JS from GMail doesn't affect the business model because there is none other than reaping in maximum profit from displaying ads inline. Look at Mozilla, that's doing just fine and in fact expanding well within it's means to create a larger sustainable business model that is competing against larger more financially capable businesses.
Do people not understand the meaning of beta? Mozilla are fixing around 10 bugs a day in trunk. If this was RC, there'd at least be half a point here. But this is retarded flamebait, you should all be ashamed of yourself.
A few points:
Application button versus alt+[letter]: I generally use my mouse more than shortcut keys.
Chrome versus Firefox: I like things like feeds and history drop downs
Target location in URL bar: Took a while to get used to but I like the change
Status bar versus Addon bar: I like the ability to customise
Chrome is a nice browser for some people and it's a good third alternative for me. But I don't feel it fits my needs. Everyone should make a choice based on their own preferences rather than attempting to validate their choices on a public forum like this to make up for their own shallow existences.
All the stuff that you're referring to. TV, iPod, etc, etc aren't even effected. Very little is effected by this. It only means that when surfing, if a site provides raw video using the VIDEO tag, your browser will either play it or it won't. In some cases, sites will have a fallback of flash. You'll barely notice the change. Apple will still opt for H.264 on ipods. And so will DVD/Blueray producers.
I believe you're mistaken, UserChrome.css changes aren't reset with updates.
Ugh, what the fuck happened to Slashdot?
Are the Vortex Bladeless Turbines in use anywhere?

To be fair, they've already followed it up. The K1 is the second iteration.
Get yourself a Nvidia Shield K1 tablet. It's everything the Nexus 7 iterations should've been.
This is the post that echoes my thoughts the closest. The people that yearn for pre-Australis design really worry me.
I'm a fan of Inkscape but the UI is terrible.
You can do that now on Android, just tap the search bar first.

I really hope someone does take them to court to get their money back.
I really hope that this thing snowballs and that all sites that employ bots under the guise of humans for interaction get royally shafted.
Why not simply build the DE that's in Avengers/Iron-Man? Instant recognition and inertia.
And yet look at the Kernal. It's APIs never break and yet it's moved forward in leaps and bounds.
+1 This. This is exactly what needs to be done.
My wallpaper folder have around 5000 images in a folder with zero organisation other than filename.
Isn't the problem here that Android aspires to be more like Windows than Linux?

That's what we've really been needing.
What features would you like to see removed?

An Addon for this is already out: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/235283/
They'll be wherever you want them to be. Either on the Addon bar or on the navigation bar.
