And remember, kids... that's a nice computer. Would be a shame if something were to "happen" to it, you know what I mean?
I'm sorry, our records indicate that this joke was used no less than 17 times in yesterday's thread about this same topic. You are in violation of the Stale Internet Joke Act of 2004. Please refrain from any and all AYBABTU references and report to UseNet for remedial training immediately.
Look, I know that you'd probably be very embarrassed if your friends and neighbors found all your searches and bookmarks for "post-op Asian trannies eating cheetos", but trust me, Google has seen worse.
My mining skill is well high enough to mine and smelt copper, and it always seems to be in plentiful supply in places like Elwynn and Dun Murogh. On a good night I can get 5, 6 stacks easily!
Though I must admit, I'm a little bit concerned about how the AH prices will react once the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj are finally opened. Yeah, it's nice to get 2-3 gold for a stack right now, but what happens when the demand goes way down?
When PS2 was launched Sony sold a fuck ton of them in Japan to people looking for a cheap DVD player. At the time stand-alone DVD players in Japan were very expensive for whatever reason, and the PS2 was actually a cheaper alternative, particularly for those who just wanted basic DVD playback capabilites and not a whole lot of bells and whistles.
This is exactly the strategy Sony is going for here. That $1800 number is ridiculous of course, but if it's even $800-900 people are going to be picking up PS3's left and right to get blu-ray on the cheap. Which is just fine by Sony, because it's all about market penetration. Maybe some people buying them for blu-ray DVD don't buy any games initially, but eventually they hear about a PS3 game that interests them, or they get handed down to kids/gamer friends, or whatever. The shelf-life of the PS3 as a game console is going to far outstrip it's usefulness as a high-end DVD player. I'm sure Sony is willing to take a hit in the short term to help ensure that the PS3 gets into as many homes as possible for the long run.
And besides, how much do you think Sony is really going to have to pay for blu-ray DVD drives? A while back there was an article posted here and other sites claiming that Sony would have to pony up $100 per unit for the drives, but that's just ridiculous. PS2 sold, what, like 80 million units? Granted XBox might be crowding that market a bit these days, but there's little reason not to believe that PS3 won't move at least 40-50 million units by the time it's all said and done. Like Sony couldn't take those kinds of sales forecasts and get $25 drives from any blu-ray DVD manufacturer out there today.
Seriously, since when have you ever let trolls dictate policy here? I know we give you a lot of shit but this is still one of the most popular and informative tech sites around. It doesn't seem to me that this problem is any more serious than "You bowed to Microsoft/Scientologists" or "OMGSignal11WTF???!?". I mean hell, even if you went all the way and switched to user-chosen stories people would still find a reason to bitch about editors using dupe accounts to influence voting or some shit like that.
Publishers are still relying on games that have been around for more than a decade. Yawn.
And yet when these titles come out, and they rock, we all won't be able to shut up about how excellent they are and how much fun they are to play.
Look, I get that gaming needs to stop relying on sequels, but I'm also getting sick of this notion that just because a game doesn't use 100% original ideas and characters it must suck. Is there really anyone here that doubts that FFXII or Zelda: Twighlight are not going to be Game of the Year candidates when they are released?
I would like to announce my new product, the Phantom Car. It gets 350 miles to the gallon...of sea water. In fact never mind that, it runs by tapping into the energy of atomic attraction between electrons in one molecule of....air pollution. Yeah, thats the ticket. It will go 1500 mph, and it can fly. And it has 8 TV's, and you drive it with a Nintendo controller. Plus it has a fridge that magically is full of whatever your favorite food is, and eating that food never makes you fat.
As proof that my product will soon be to market, I am going to release the Phantom Car's revolutionary air freshener, which smells exactly like grape Kool-Aid.
That world event is also probably one of the major reasons leathers are in so much demand, just FYI. People are buying the shit out of metals, cloths, and leathers to turn into the dudes in the IF Warriors area.
1.3 wasn't too bad. I mean it still had a couple issues here and there, but no more than most other games from that era before internet-automatic-updated-v1.9.03x5n78.
When the observations don't fit the way things are understood, there are only two possibilities: either the measurements we made are wrong, or what we understood previously was wrong.
Which is exactly the train of thought the scientists studying Mt. St. Helens are using to try and figure out this mystery, I'm sure. Don't assume incompetance on their part because of some AP writer didn't get that point across.
Observation: MS decides to cede the Mac OS to Firefox and Safari.
Conclusion: MS should totally abandon 10 years of IE development and research and go buy Opera.
Nice job there Dvorak. While we're on the subject, why don't you go trade off your car because it's due for a tune up. Or better yet, sell your house because the furnace needs replaced.
Seriously, is this what it takes to get hits these days? Christ this is Weekly World News quality. Why doesn't he just start writing about Bill and Bigfoots love child?
Well in Galaxies defense I'm pretty sure they have one of those "gameplay/content may change over time" CYA riders. From everything I've heard Galaxies is slowly choking itself to death but it's their world, they can do what they want. It would be horrible beyond my understanding to be a quadrapalegic, and it sucks that this guy can't play a game he enjoyed anymore, but I don't really see how Galaxies can be held responsible. They thought a more complex interface is what the game needed, they have to do what they feel is best for the game experience to the majority of their customers.
Besides it's not like there aren't other alternatives. This guy just needs to do the sane thing and switch to WoW. Hell I'm fully abled and I could play this game with one finger most of the time.
...the only non-corporate stores that seem to be doing anything are the "vintage" type stores. They generally have a decent selection of newer games, but it's obvious they rely solely on trade-ins for them.
Given what kind of prices and built-in customer base the chains have, I really think this is your best bet. A lot of us 30+ gamers are out there thinking it would be great fun to go pick up a used NES and play some Dragon Warrior or what not.
...I wonder why he doesn't try it on his phone systems first?
"Hello, Coca-Cola? Yeah, listen, I just wanted you to know that we just cut a new deal with Pepsi, that gives their phone calls priority on our systems. Yeah, it's an exclusive deal and all. Basically my engineers tell me that any call of yours routed through our systems will receive a 10% degredation in signal quality and experience approximately a 3 second delay in connection. I'm sure you understand, just the cost of doing business and all. If you're interested, perhaps I can tell you about our new Super Platinum plan, which would give your calls Level 2 High Priority, ensuring that....hello?"
My company is still in the process of hiring another network admin. We got probalby 20 resumes total, and of those we in-person'd 3 of them. Of those three we had one clear choice (who turned us down, we suspect his current company threw more money at him), and the other two were OK, but not strong enough that either is an obvious choice.
Granted I work for the state so the salary isn't going to bring in the rockstar resumes, but it's pretty clear there is a need for good, experienced admins, at least in my area. This is the kind of job that's never going to be farmed out to India.
WTF? Is that game even out? If so, has it even been a month? What, did it win for the XBox 360 demo?
I know the people reviewing/giving the awards have probably had a copy for a while now, but damn.
Guy1: Hey, did you hear that Microsoft is going to purposefully limit the number of 360's at launch to artificially generate launch buzz?
Guy2: Wow, I can't believe that Microsoft would be so low as to purposefully limit the number of 360's at launch to artificially generate launch buzz!
Guy1: Did you just say that Microsoft was going to purposefully limit the number of 360's at launch to artificially generate launch buzz? My God, this is the second source I've heard this from. Confirmation!

Or as it's called when translated from Corporate-Speak, "Hey Apple Please Buy This From Us As A Cheap And Easy Way To Get Satellite Radio On iPods".
Four Civs and three MOOs, but not one MOM sequel?

Is when Mario Revolution comes out, and NextGen spends 5 pages telling us how great and groundbreaking it is.

That's wonderful, but maybe you aren't aware of the fact that computer response time is typically measured in seconds now, not hours.

Hyperbole much?
Spoken like someone who has never worked in a corporate environment before.
