I know stuff breaks down, but these satellites are just up there. There's no wind or water to wear down the antennas. How much do these things actually break?
I'm sure quite a few people will buy this, even though they're not necessarily interested in the music. Yeah, this will show the big companies that people are willing to pay for their music. But how long will it last? They will always want it for cheaper than it is. I agree that CD prices are way to high, but people have been buying them for years. Then they started downloading songs because it's cheaper(read: free). 99 cents for a song isn't bad, but once that catches on people will want 5 songs for 99 cents. Then they will complain that 4 of the songs suck and they would only pay for one song if they could but they can't so they resort to getting it for free somewhere. It's going to happen. People are cheap.
Read the article - "When a target is in the display's bull's-eye, the pilot pushes a button to launch the missile." The helmet is just for aiming. You still push a button to launch.
As my English teacher would say, show not tell. Does Headlight Software make it convenient to pay? Why did you register getright while you might not have registered other programs.
Doesn't Halon essentially use up all the oxygen in the room so the fire can't burn anymore? That would suck. BTW, the cause of all death is lack of oxygen to the brain.
AFAIR, the oscillator was tuned to Earth's natural resonant frequency. The ground actually started shaking and people thought there was an earthquake in Manhattan. He also had an air-powered oscillator that could be tuned to reciprocate at the frequency of objects such as walls and beams. He nearly destroyed his laboratory using these.
How does anybody know if the reports are inflated? More reports? Who do we trust?
Look up Tesla oscillators. Tesla did some stuff in Manhattan that oscillated at Earth's natural resonant frequency that made the earth shake for blocks. Same basic principle - vibrate stuff.
I think anybody that actually needs to worry about RF interference already knows about it and probably won't be building one of these cases. Anybody else it probably won't matter. The FCC will not hunt you down.
This kind of thing happens a lot at stores when you ask if they have more of something in backstock. Instead of the employee just saying "no, we're out" they'll say something like "I didn't see any back there". It just protects that individual.

VoIP with an underground wireless network would be awesome. Just thing of not having a telephone bill. This is just the next step after being able to buy our own phones instead of lease them from the phone company.
Would you want crime to be eliminated? Do you want people to stop killing and raping other people? If we eliminated crime, think of how many people would lose their jobs. Police officers, detectives, and prison wardens to name a few.
At some point we just need to restructure things. Changing to hydrogen now may devastate the oil producing countries, but won't they be devastated when the oil runs out? At least if we do it now they could live off the oil for a little while longer while they figure out another way to make a living.
I'm sorry this is extremely o/t. I just opened up slashdot and saw a story called Test from Christd. I was going to another website just as I noticed it and by the time I opened slashdot again it was gone. Anybody know what this was?
I read the headline and thought PCB = printed circuit board, but I started reading comments and it didn't make any sense. This is one of the few times I've actually read the article.
Freeserve has these, which look very similar to the mysmart pads.
BTW, I was just at Best Buy and they didn't have any of the mysmart pads. I might try CompUSA later because they supposedly have them too.

How long until we're able to copy the unique ids?

Yeah, I'm sure their automotive software is all just a web page.
What do you call this?

My thoughts exactly. Are we going to have a counter? "...only 37 species left to discover."

Well that's just disgusting.

Okay, it's not illegal, but if you were entrapped then you can't be charged with a crime.
Yeah, because entrapment isn't illegal.
If he went with this approach he might as well just use a speakerphone. I don't think that's what he's going for, though.

Yeah, I had trouble clicking on that big picture on the front page. Thanks for the link.

Now is your chance to get graped by Guppi! Sounds kinda erotic.
This article that was on slashdot back in August has a bit of good information.
