Action Quake is the single most enjoyable multiplayer game I have ever had the pleasure of watching or playing.
That game simply combines the reality and fantasy prefectly.
Of course, the fact that me and my friends replaced the sniper head splitting sound (also the knife kill sound) with "Suck my ass and gargle my balls" made it much more interesting......
The logoff thing could be annoying, but they haven't accidently transferred my money to the wrong account yet, so I'll stick with them. Had too many friends that had big problems with BofA and Fargo to even consider using them.
And they're pretty reasonable, too. But they've been working on the back end database and have had some issues.
If you read the article, you would have seen that they're also going to benchmark the base distro!
Staff at the Open Source Lab will load the machine with a base distro. After installation of the base distro we will be running a set of pre-determined benchmarks. These benchmarks will be run as identically as possible across all of the distros. Once we have finished the first round of benchmarking we will hand the machine over to each distro's team and let them tweak accordingly./BLOCKQUOTE
With the microBTX form occupying only 12.9 Liters and regular BTX form system not much larger, Intel has been able to push acceptance of BTX with OEM manufacturers with some ease.
PicoBTX, the smallest of the BTX forms, is the most interesting of the BTX form factors, in my opinion. Intel will be demonstrating 6.9 Liter systems based around picoBTX, smaller than any small form factor PCs on the market.
Dang! They're really gonna take the rice-ification of computers to new levels! "I've got a 12.9 Liter motherboard! Eat that!"
But I'll still have 440 cubic inches of MB goodness!
Ah, but the AND implies something that is not true. It implies that GUNS and PEOPLE are required for killing to occur. But we all know that a gun by itself cannot kill, and a person without a gun can kill.
The main reason I see is that DVI supports both analog and digital. So you could have a LCD with only digital in in a DVI connector, but people would expect it to work with their analog connector if the get the adapter. The adapter fits, but it doesn't work.
To solve that problem, you have to have both a digital and analog thingy in the monitor.

(Anyone else get bit by the Linux will reboot with CRTL-ALT-DEL, but Win NT 4-XP will ask for Logon? I've rebooted machines on KVM switches by accident many a time, especially if I can't remap the salute like I usually do!)
A major key factor for the PS2's success was that it was backwards compatible with PS1 games. So if you had a PS1, it was a no-brainer to get the PS2. And if you didn't, you knew that the PS2 would play all those cool games that your friends had, so you picked it up.
If the PS3 is backwards compatible with the PS2 & PS1, I think it will do pretty well.
Backwards compatibility is starting to get important for the console manufacturers. The N64 was NOT backwards compatible with anything, and so it was harder to get moving. Nowadays, the lack of backwards compatibility will slow down adoption (note that Mac OS X; Windows XP, etc all have some form of backwards compatibility.)
According to alexa.com, google is the 3rd most visited site in the world.
And compared to google, slashdot is but a drop in the bucket.
For those too lazy to find out, the #1 site is Yahoo.com, #2 is MSN. List
I think slashdot is not happy with this. If google becomes the new standard for website destruction, what will slashdot do?
It could be argued that the only value left in slashdot is the ability to destroy entire webservers with a single post......

Just pointing out that My Bank also works just fine with mozilla and Opera.
Because sometimes something (or someone) just needs killin'.
Texas, where "He needed killin'" is a valid defense.

He would only have to pay royalties for his polkas, as those have the actual words from other songs in them.
He doesn't have to pay royalties for anything, though, because he gets permission every time. The main screwup was Coolio, but oh, well.
He could do everything he does without permission, protected by parody law.

Nefarious puppet-masters
Or, if we still don't like Metallica, we can call them "Nefarious Master....Master.....Master of puppets!"

Hmmm.... And I though myDoom came from Russia! Now that we see it is from Finland, things become clear.
SCO is cornered, yes! Rat, yes! And I wonder if that virus is GPL?
HEheheehehehe

No, that's already been done. Make your logo a Black Bird, however, and you've got MyCrowSoft!
(stolen from elsewhere.)
Heh. I just dumped a 1989 Toyota Corolla wagon and bought a used '66 Plymouth Fury III.
History of the Fury....
C bodies forever!
Dodge Darts live forever! That was the great thing about them.
And of course, putting a 440 in them made for some insane sleeper cars... See some insane Darts....
The worst thing about them is they wouldn't die, so you'd never have an excuse to get a better looking car.
That's what reverse is for. 25 miles backwards, and viola! It's under warranty again!
Not that you should do this.
That's a really high slashdot UID, I hope you notice.
Also, the only story he's ever posted on is the Iraqi Linux one.
Slashdot has not got to the 7 digit UIDs yet. See UID 1 Million
"Always double-clickin' on my mizzouse"
It might not be that expensive to drop a real T1.
My stumbling block was rendezvous. "Rondayvoo" indeed.
It means that you read words before you heard people say them.
This site sells basically the same thing as a Model M, but with windows keys. They even make custom keyboards, too!
