It was technically called Ultima X and it was scrapped. They used the 3d resources they had created in the latest revamp of Ultima Online. If someone sunk a massive amount of money into the project, it could possibly turn out ok. But more likely than not they'd try and make a WoW clone like everyone else and fail miserably.
Lets just get a few things strait: The only reason an MMO has a forum for its own game is so they can control the speech of those in the forum. This is just a further attempt at stifling the speech of those in the forum. If the WOW players were smart they'd flock to some other non-blizzard controlled forum. But its just to easy to use the official forums, and that's why it works.
I wouldn't even notify Microsoft... I'd just release it and laugh a hearty pirate laugh. Microsoft should count themselves lucky I have no haxor skills and the people that do give them any notice in the first place.
Why is Rodger Ebert a brilliant man? In fact, why is his opinion on videos even relevant? Maybe we should get his opinion on astronomy while we're at it?
Has anyone seen the episode of Top Gear in which they test drive this car? Basically all the claims by the company are BS. The charge lasted a fraction of the time claimed, the time it took to charge up the car was far longer than was claimed, and they ended up blowing the motor on it at some point. It was failure after failure and this was on a car that costs more than some Ferraris. Good luck Tesla investors.
I imagine after large numbers of the population lose access to the internet people might revolt. Of course, 1% of us are in prison right now, mostly on drug crimes. So maybe we'll just sit by and let it happens. Who knows?
I have a 30yr old jeep that meets emissions every year. It probably gets better gas millage than your car (and no I don't mean that bullshit sticker in the window, I mean your REAL gas millage.) The problem is people don't know how to do basic maintenance on their own cars anymore. The computer compensates for the fact the owner never changes their sparkplugs, oil, belts, air filter, etc... when the computer finally can't make enough adjustments to keep the car running it finally dies... the owner takes it in and OMG! It needs a new everything!! How could that have happened? It was fine last week! A well maintained hummer probably gets better gas millage than any 5+ year old prius with a bad owner.
How many people would this agency employ? The manpower required to do this would be staggering. Unless they think they can just say "Give us up to date network maps!" at which point 99% of the ISPs out there would say "Network whatsits?"
The one way to ensure our network would go down and never come back up would be to take a complete stranger and put them in control. Make that complete stranger someone that works for the government and I'd be surprised if it didn't just burst into flame on the spot.
it looks like a large palm3. $200, its not color, or eink, It's going to be tied to amazon? Come on. E-Readers need to either be CHEAPER or BETTER than books. Right now they are neither. So their only purpose at the moment is geek bling at the local starbucks. Call me when they're $25 and not tethered to amazon and they might be worth my interest.
I always backed down / ran away from bullies as I thought that was the right thing to do. Got the crap beat out of me every day for 12 years because they knew I wouldn't hit back. Now that I have a 2yr old of my own, I'll be teaching him that if anyone punches him in the shoulder and laughs his response should be to punch them square in the face. I'll deal with the teachers when I get called in. If they can't control their class room my kid will defend himself.
If you have a duplicator machine, you are more that welcome to come over to my house and copy any or all items within. Oooo... except my computer. There are images on there and I don't want to get a DCMA notice.
The government thought BP would fix it eventually and didn't want to get involved in the fix in case they screwed it up. I don't think they realized just how badly BP could screw it up. None of the damage has really been realized yet, but I think this will be the end of this administration. Their fault or not, the impact of this is going to make Katrina look like a strong breeze. The loss in tax revenue from all the failing coastal business's may even bankrupt the states.
Can we just make a rule that any image you post on the internet doesn't belong to you anymore? Anyone with any sense already figured that out a decade ago anyway.
My guess is that once we are able to properly explore other planets and moons it will be rare that we find one that doesn't have life of some source. Abundant life? Perhaps not. But my guess is that mars, Jupiter and just about every other planet will have at least some life deep in the bedrock or floating around in the atmosphere where its hard to find. Moons like our own might be dead, due to the complete lack of geologic activity and atmosphere.
I think what scientists are looking for now is abundant life, like what we have here on earth. And in that, I think we'll need reactive materials in liqid and gas form like the oxygen and water earth has.
I was sick for 6 years. Every few months I got a little sicker. I kept going in... they flagged me as a Hypocondriac. It was suggested that I see a shrink. I kept getting sicker. They started intentionally performing unconfortable procedures on me like colonoscopys, prostate exams, pin prick exams, etc... to try and stop me from coming in. Finally my symptoms started to increase exponentially over a few weeks. My hands were shaking so violently that I couldn't type any more, my vision blurred. I felt like I was having a 24hr heart attack. I started googling things... went to the doctor and asked them to test my thyroid. They said they didn't think that was necessary. I DEMANDED IT. Finally they relented and tested me. I had graves disease. A few weeks later they irradiated my thyroid and put me replacement therapy. I was so sick for 6 years that it prevented me from going to college, from getting a promotion... it ruined countless familly vacations all because my health plan didnt bother to do a $30 blood test on me. The Drs can screw themselves. They don't care about you, me or anyone but themselves. I pay more for health insurance than I do for my Fing house, I'll demand any damned test I please. The director of patient relations at my NEW HMO (yes I switched) knows me by my first name. I have her desk phone now. I plan to be a problem patient for every doctor I ever meet.
The fact that we're not trying to get to mars is... well, a shame. Shame on obama. And Shame on Nasa for wasting all those years on the POS space shuttle. Commercial space flight isn't going to do a damned thing other than fly millionaires around for a long time.

I think this is a clear case in which Obama needs to use his new powers to shut down the internet until this is resolved!
Amen

"Why would I want to pay for a second phone I don't need?" Oh I dunno... maybe so your employer couldn't read all your texts?
Yes it does. Unfortunately most people don't understand what the right to bare arms was intended for.

I agree 100%. Very good explanation btw.
And everyone always hated MSFT for this sort of thing when Apples 10x worse.

yea, it's pretty sad when I wont even pirate your software. The final straw with Nero was "Nero Scout"

You TAKING a picture is work. Me copying a picture is not work. Well it is for me. I guess we both push a button don't we? Seems equal to me. lol
