I too find the Yammer clients pretty terrible. For a less CPU heavy, and less annoying experience, I've started using Yoono for connecting to Yammer, as a Chrome extension.
It bugs me the way older generations seem to expect young people to stay at home all day, and then think it strange when the go out and do these sort of things. This is a time when people are trying to make a name for themselves and decide who whey will become, people who want to be spineless, worthless stackers will sit at home and watch TV, but there are a lot of people who want more than that for themselves, and when this is the only real option they have, it's what they turn to.
Seriously? Watch TV or commit violent crimes are the only two options? I think there are a LOT of other things kids could be doing with their time.
I've heard the argument that while roundabouts may increase the number of accidents, those accidents are less severe than the same intersection with lights.
I disagree. The difference is that everything for the iPad works on the iPad. Not everything for the Android works on every Android tablet. I went though this very thought process myself last year. I *wanted* to buy an Android tablet. They're cheaper and an open platform. In the end I went with an iPad because there was no single Android tablet at the time that would "just work". Not having to deal with compatibility headaches was worth the difference in price.
Even being a guardian, he had to overcome challenges. Like not sticking out as a guardian (even though there was a myth surrounding the "lonely Roman"). He also had to go where ever the box went, without looking suspicious. He had to learn different languages. And I'm sure he didn't spend 2000 years twiddling his thumbs.:) He must've been involved in something.
I don't deny that Rory is a compassionate character. But I don't think his compassion is due to waiting around 2000 years. I think waiting around 2000 years was due to his compassion. Sure his memory of being an Auton gives him a unique perspective on what the Flesh has to go through, but I think his character is just the sort that would be more accepting regardless.
My point is, he has experienced, first hand, the progression of humanity from sword swinging conquerors to modern day civilization. He's GOT to have grown. I would enjoy seeing more of that, and less of "this situation is dangerous.. to prove it, let's kill Rory.. again".
Amy Pond annoys me btw, I'm glad she won't feature much in the next episode, time for Rory to stand up and become a more central character as I like him very much. He has a heart and doesn't seem as self-centred as Amy (he was moved by the TARDIS dying in the previous story). Rory also isn't the racist Amy is.
Rory really is an untapped goldmine in this series. He's what, a thousand years OLDER than the doctor now? I'm rather surprised that waiting around for Amy to get out of the Pandorica hasn't matured his character any.
Has anyone heard anything about a North American release of the live action Space Cruiser Yamato movie that was released in Japan at the end of last year? The trailer looked amazing.

That reminds me of one of my favourite old 8-bit games, Alternate Reality by Datasoft. Instead of the usual dungeon creatures you'd face, a backup copy would pit you against an FBI agent who attacked you with "The Long Arm of the Law". A lot less subtle, but fun to try and beat with your high level characters.
2nd paragraph in TFA:
The plan, known as usage-based billing, will apply to people who buy their internet connection from Bell, or from smaller service providers that rent lines from the company, such as Teksavvy or Acanac.
Sounds like it applies to Bell's own customers too.
Absolutely true! I am currently restricting my calories, but occasionally, I can spare enough to get a happy meal. Without the toy, I might be more tempted to get a full "adult" meal.:(
The thing is that Sony shouldn't get to decide what I do with my hardware.
Yeah I'm sure this relates to the linux thing too, but they're telling me "We know we told you you could do it, but now we've changed our minds and if you want to continue using your PS3, you never will be able to install linux in the future."
What's next? BluRay movies get disabled? I bet more people would care then, or would we just hear "So what? It's a games machine, not a video player."
This argument always seems short-sighted to me. Eventually this generation of consoles will become irrelevant. So instead of having an old PS3 that only plays old PS3 games (or even older PS2 and PS1 games) sitting in a corner gathering dust, why not install linux on it and give it a new purpose? Maybe as a media center? MythTV front-end? MAME box? Shouldn't I be able to decide what to do with the hardware?
Maybe I don't want linux on it NOW, but in the future it would keep it useful. Sony is trying to limit my options, and since there's no way to downgrade, it's a permanent limitation.
But somehow, whenever someone mentions such criticism, it all ends up the same. Either that claim was never made, or the data contradicting it is wrong, or whatever.... and we're back where we were, everyone contradicting everyone, and not a shred of backing it up -_-
How do you provide a source for something that was never said?
For this reason the traffic law will at times be a suboptimal solution, and in these cases it will be a GOOD thing to ignore the traffic law IF you can keep with the spirit of it. And therefore it is important to understand the actual purpose or spirit of the law, and not only the words.
You and the traffic officer who hands me my tickets seem to disagree.
Slashdot is News for Nerds... not News for Nerds Who Obey All Questionable EULAs.:) I for one am grateful for this article, otherwise I may have foolishly upgraded my Dell Mini 9. (When Apple sells a netbook, I'll retire my mini... )
Making sweeping generalizations from a very narrow sample set. ANY type of survey that is voluntary is going to be skewed. It is an inescapable part of human nature. Trarman, I am not considering the PS3 vs WII vs XBOX360 aspect of it.
Ah, sorry. In that we agree. General statements from a non-random sample is unfair.
They're stealing yer jerbs!
Is that you Coach Z? Can you tell Strong Bad to start answering emails again?

Rowan Atkinson played a great doctor already. If you haven't seen it, you should.

Honestly I think it's a fascinating project. I agree when he says architecture students will want to come to Cupertino just to see the building.

It's called Epic Citadel, and yes it's free. Screenshots look cool. Downloading it now! :)

In addition to withholding OnStar, the car just won't drive on any new roads.

That is a good solution, except, my hosts file got so huge it slowed down all internet access like I was dialup again.

There's "supposed" to be two more Stargate movies (one for SG-1 and one for Atlantis). http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Stargate_movies
Au contraire.. they've been trying to hack their way into the PS3 for years and STILL can't run custom firmware.

Perhaps not representative in isolation, but compared to other consoles (which would equally suffer the self-selection bias) it is pretty damning.
