How about we take the Rabid Rabbis as being representative of the views of Jews?

So does that mean that all Jews believe that "Non Jews are donkeys put here only to serve the Jews" as the highly revered (e.g. the Israeli prime minister gave him a great speech when he died) Rabbi Ovidia Yosef recently stated? Does that mean that all Jews believe that "even" a Homosexual Jew has a higher soul than a goy as one of the Rabid Rabbis recently stated? Does that mean that all Jews believe that they are entitled to kill a non Jews in order to take his organs should a Jew need them, as one of the Rabid Rabbis recently stated?

Of course not! The Jews and their supporters will shout! He is on the fringe! He does not represent us!

But on the other hand you are all okay with taking these few extremist's words are being representative of the views of all Muslims!

The fact is that there are nut bags on all sides and Jews and Christians have their fair share of them too. They just don't get the biased press coverage for some strange reason.

It is that most of time large organisations such as slash dot ought to leave things alone.

Microsoft has completely fucked up Windows and made millions of peoples lives a misery by getting rid of the start button and with that stupid fucking charms bar and tiles.

Google has completely ruined Youtube with Google+. It is now impossible to "discuss" a youtube video, impossible to follow a thread. What a bunch of wankers google are for effectively silencing discussion. It is obvious that users want threaded conversations for each video. They do not want Circles, they want threaded conversations and they want to converse with people outside of their "circle". That is the entire fucking point of the internet. it let's us talk even though we do not know each other.

So why does Slashdot think that it is not going to piss off most of their user base by wasting oodles of money on changing something which already works?

In that case, Sir/Madam, you are a sexist! You are saying that women are better at certain roles than men simply because of their sex.

Can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and companies were saying that men are better at certain roles than women and that they ought to reduce the number of women in those roles and increase the men! There would be an outrage!

What about the case of maternity leave? If a company employs a woman of child bearing age then there is a risk that she will claim maternity leave. Shouldn't a company avoid employing those women? You seem to be okay with denying a job to a man in favour of a woman because you think that women "tend to be a LOT more sane than men are, or at least have better social skills", so shouldn't you also accept that there should be lower salaries for women due their tendency to claim maternity leave?

What is good for the goose is good for the gander!

In any case, the particular case you cite is anecdotal. You link the badness of the guy in your story to the fact that he is a guy and the goodness of the woman to the fact that she is a woman. There is no evidence that that particular guy is representative of men in general. The same goes for the woman.

How about this: Leave people alone! Let companies hire who they want, when they want!

But we do not need quotas or any kind of PR or subsidy campaign to encourage them to do things. Government and lobby groups please just f*ck off and mind your own frigging business.
