Because prostitutes, contrary to television shows, tend to be teenagers with few legal protections, most pimps are violent parasites.
Definitely not true many places. The average prostitute in Australia is about 30, was introduced to the business by a friend around age 24, and doesn't plan to do this all her life. The average legal prostitute in Hong Kong is in her 30s or 40s, divorced, and probably going to be doing it until she can't make money that way any more. The average illegal prostitute in Hong Kong is 24, on a tourist visa, and has a kid back home she needs to support.
Agree with you about pimps for the most part, they're a shady bunch you'd do best to stay away from. The female ones can be at least as bad as the male ones. Although some of the women running "massage parlours" who work themselves seem to be OK, but in that case they're not really a pimp I guess, just a team lead.
Yet pimping is considered a lesser crime than the subsequent prostitution.
That isn't actually true in many jurisdictions, such as UK and Hong Kong. In both cases prostitution is legal under certain conditions (e.g. not soliciting in public, no more than one woman working out of a single place of business, etc.) but pimping is completely illegal. The laws in these jurisdictions are designed to punish people exploiting women, rather than punishing women selling their bodies.
Yeah, I have to agree. Autobahn has very strict rules about not passing someone to their right, and people actually follow them. People are also generally courteous about getting up to speed before entering, leaving gaps for people to enter, getting out of the left lane for people wanting to pass, indicating for lane changes and exits, etc. Automating driving on an Australian freeway would be far more challenging, and even that would be easy compared to an intercity road in Vietnam.
I spend a lot of time on 4chan, and trust me this is a far lower standard of copy-pasta than what you see there. I think it's a poor imitation of the GNAA tactics in the heyday of Slashdot. They'd write "press releases" and make them tangentially related to the story they were commenting on or current events in world news. Sometimes they'd repurpose a troll by changing it slightly to fit in with a different story. It's just a far lamer version of that. Trolling has devolved along with everything else here.
Why do so many people seem think offering unlimited data on severely limited shared spectrum is a good idea? There's a reason carriers are moving away from unlimited packages, and it isn't just to fuck you over.
Anyhow, I'm a little torn. Isn't NSW the place that also made it pretty much illegal for two "bikey blokes" to ride together? Maybe it was three? Basically they wanted to outlaw bikie gangs. They were a bit out of sorts about it the last time I was there.
No that was Queensland that passed those laws. Unlike NSW, Queensland has a single house of parliament at state level (no senate) so it's easy for a government to pass all sorts of weird laws.
What the hell is a DINO anyway? I keep reading it as an abbreviation for dinosaur, but capitalised for emphasis. That aside, don't you think the "blame republicans" troll is getting tired and boring yet? It was funny a couple of times, but now it's just irritating.
Hi Richard! Posting anonymously won't fool anyone, you know. You know what your problem is? However foolproof your position may be, you come across as such a self-righteouss git no-one wants to listen to you. (Yeah, I know I'm probably not replying to the real Richard Dawkins, just one of his brainwashed followers.)
Not always. There are people who use gmail for work, or who host their business e-mail on gmail. So you could be sending e-mail to an apparently innocuous address that's actually Google-hosted. Then even if what you receive isn't all being slurped up, a significant proportion of what you send may be.
Sydney used to have a brown haze most days that disappeared some time after 2000 thanks to Euro IV emissions standards for vehicles. Last time I flew to LAX was early 2004, and there was visible smog coming in, but nothing like what you describe.
vPro also doesn't work at all on my Dell Precision workstation. It's supposed to be supported but they must have fucked something up in the implementation as it's completely impossible to enable.
Samsung's latest Galaxy S and Note models have no SD card slots and rely on built-in storage, too. They've even dropped the removable battery in their quest to be more Apple-like.
On a completely different note, here's a wikipedia link to a newspaper advertisement selling sex robots for women in 1913.
That isn't primarily a "sex robot" or masturbation aid, it's an electromechanical massage device along the same lines as the Hitachi Magic Wand. And it definitely isn't just aimed at women, half their testimonials down the left are from men. Yes, just like the Magic Wand I'm sure it was used as a masturbation aid as well. I'm quite possibly the only person with a Magic Wand used solely as a massage device, but whatever.
I read about that. She saw it in a porno, but rather than removing the blade to attach the dildo, she slipped a hollow dildo over the blade. Results were predictable.
I'll support her movement as long as she also pushes to ban dildos, vibrators, clitoral stimulators, teledildonics, "fucking machines" and other female masturbation aids. No, I don't use masturbation aids, and I don't have a problem with female masturbation aids. I just have a problem with the horrific double standard. Feminists tell us that women who use masturbation aids are strong, independent and empowered, while at the same time claiming that men who use masturbation aids are disgusting perverts.
No, string manipulation is not inherently wrong. It's manipulating content, e.g. making it so you can track their clicks and obscuring their links, that people are unhappy about.
In Australia, legally speaking "digital rape" refers to the use of fingers to sexually penetrate someone without consent. Calling this "digital rape" wouldn't fly in court, since it's a legal term with an established meaning.
And why would that be a problem? On the Internet, anything's possible!
And on the Internet, no-one knows you're a dog. So if AC is a dog, and he links to pr0n of his girlfriend... I'm not clicking that link, don't want bestiality popping up here!
I think the best bet is spinning disks with some filesystem that stores data redundantly and does block-level checksums (e.g. ZFS). Then you need to routinely buy new disks to replace the disks, copy your data across, and verify the new copy. Not just when they fail, on a regular schedule every five years or so.
The ROM's on early-80's consoles are still, on the whole, perfectly readable (as evidenced by MAME), and they don't even TRY to use error correcting codes to ensure resiliency.
As a MAME developer, I have the sad duty to inform you that this, sadly, is not the case. ROMs for early video games are gradually succumbing to bitrot. EPROMs used in arcade games eventually leak their trapped charges, and mask layers oxidise in mask ROMs. Flash ROMs from newer arcade games can degrade in as little as 15 years. If you're lucky you can get a good read by heating the chip up or cooling it down. But in many cases the data is permanently lost.

Ah, cool. Thanks for the clarification. I'd probably have more of a clue about this if I lived/worked in the US.

If you know a better way of making more virgins, I'd like to hear it.

You know I've literally had a nightmare about having to reboot a PDP-10. I thought the same thing.

Maybe you, but we all use Ghostery to block those damn buttons.
It's not to protect you from malware. It's so they can count clicks that go through the redirection service and obscure the original URLs.
Colourising a message is not the same as replacing a link with one that redirects through a service you control so you can count clicks.
