That isn't it. At least, I am almost certain there was another similiar one. The lyrics are slightly different, and I didn'T recognize the screen shot (or the rest of the ad, but when I first posted I was just going off the screenshots). IIRC, the one I'm thinking of actually had our sad...sad...rapper on screen.
Something that's always been lacking on P2P networks has been something some people harped on when napster hit, community. They bring people's computers together, but they do not bring people together.
Having millions of crap files floating around would push people into the chat channels, where they could find out without downloading who has real files and who is a poisoner/has been contaminated. More people in the channels, and maybe more people will actually talk to each other?
And thus the advantage of IRC for file trading will be eliminated.
Why? They have to bring them in for maintenance anyways to replace the cockpit doors with something more secure. Why can't they make other fixes at the same time?
Because that door fix could probably be done in an hour. Tearing a plane apart to replace most of it's wiring would take considerably longer.
ATI is also about PORN. That new video smoothing feature sounds sweet.
They've given us some nice features for notebooks for a while now...that anti-aliased resizing on non-native resolutions, for one. Dunno if Nvidea et al eventually got round to matching that one. But ATI had it first by a long shot.
I don't want to imagine it in 3D cel shading. Not unless the technology improves markedly in the next year and a half. It's okay in a fast-moving game like Jet Set Radio, but thus far it mostly looks pretty awkward if it's sitting still.
It'll be a while before there's a market for this type of disc, assuming we aren't talking about a 40 gig DVD-R, here.
HDTV hasn't widely penetrated yet, so that potential use for the extra space isn't there. And the fact that studios aren't likely to want to put more stuff on single discs (because people won't pay that much more for it) means that at current resolutions, the market isn't there.
Unless we're talking about RECORDABLE discs for computer use, this won't go anywhere for a while. And the Toshiba one will be most likely, since any drive will have to be compatible with as many options as possible to be competetive.
Still, nice to know that when the market wants it, the tech will be ready.

Gay people will at least communicate with straight people. Your analogy sucks.
At least he has the honesty to say that it might not be. Of course the industry doesn't care if it is or not, it's a convenient excuse.
It couldn't be the homogenization of radio, the CD prices rising significantly faster than inflation (been to Musicland lately?...this doesn't really apply to most internet retailers, though), the industry's insistence on putting out what THEY want rather than what CONSUMERS want...
Is there any reasonably authoritative source on who is actually making spam worthwhile? Who is buying stuff that spammers are selling? Who is falling for the scams?
Yeah, but if someone makes a game with that and tries selling it, through anyone other than ID, they've made themselves into a big fat juicy lawsuit target.

That's bullshit. The right has ideologies, just as much as the left.
The christian right is all about ideology. What possible interest could a christian have in whether I pray or not? They're just looking for agreement with their ideology.
Same with libertarians. If libertarians got their way, and we treated our decidedly non-free markets as though they WERE really free markets, it would be disaster. (Libertarians have such a simplistic idea of how the economy works I consider the extreme types to be just as insane as out-and-out communists)
Doesn't matter what you put in the ID3 tags...some dumbshit will just replace them to insist that the song's by System of a Down.
No, it would not violate the DMCA...the medium is analog, DMCA does not apply.
IANAL, but also IANAIdiot.

You must not remember the late 80s Atari commercial for the 2600...lets see if I remember how it went:
"Still under 50 bucks, but wait there's more!
There's a lot of cool games from your video store!"

I was kinda disappointed they don't have it.

How about pong with elevators and hallway lights?
Yeah, it's just like how it's much harder to masturbate when you know your mom might walk in at any moment.
How about a suicide bomber game?
Better yet, how about the brain waves of a convict in an electric chair?
I want to hear the brains of the criminally insane.
So play the audio off of one drive and the video off another. Would it be hard or impossible to synch the two?

How many geckos would I have to skin to make me some gecko-gloves and gecko-socks?
Well EXCUSE ME for missing one sentence in the article.
And take the rest of your post and shove it up your ass, as it had absolutely nothing to do with anything I wrote.

What we can hear of the dub in the ad sounds ...okay, I guess. But hearing any name which was ostensibly unchanged is painful to me. "ha-kooo!"
And then there was something to the effect of "I'm MASTER Haku!" (emphasis not added)
Dubs suck. No dub yet has not sucked, at best they equal or outdo the originals in only a few areas.
