Oh, that might be a nice replacement for what I use now (mailleds).
I would love to not only have it blink while I have mail, but also my two other house mates (as there are three leds on the keyboard, this should fit fine).
But looking at what I found at the site, it might not be what I'm looking for... although it's quiet flexible... hmm.

I also find it annoying to have the numlock on, it's 'the light in the corner of the eye', that bugs me as well.
Very strange that something can annoy me that way.
Actually, I think it uses the WebDAV-part (which I wouldn't call Outlook WebAccess, that's a bit silly).
I hope that they are pursuing a true Exchange connector., this is one big messed up protocol, I really do hope no wants to do that, it's scary (probably a waste of time).
Just use Hylafax (Fax-server uses modem and Linux-computer), it doesn't use paper, unless you tell it too.:-)
I deliver it to e-mail (fax2mail), so it's just like all other spam. All I still need is some PrettyGoodOCR-software to make it realtext, then I can filter them out.:-)
Long story: this is just the kernel + drivers/modules, distributions (RH/Suse/Mandrake/Debian) use this as part of there distribution just like any other piece of software (GIMP/KDE/whatever).
So if they bring out a new version of there distribution, you could compare that with an update/upgrade from Microsoft (they all package it for the 'end-user').
the Linux kernel is not for most end-users, only for developers (who might need something specific) or system-administrators that need more control over exactly what driver-version they want to use or something.
You can best compare it with, if you can go in to Microsoft's own SourceSafe (or whatever they use) archive and take out there very latest version (because in Linux this is all open) to make your own... whatever
This (GFS) is at the block-device level, so things like Oracle can have raw-disk access.
Access to NFS it at the filesystem level.
Like getting hardware working in Windows is easy ?
right.
Think again, really, think about it.
Most of the time it works fine, just like that precompiled kernel of your Linux Desktop distribution.
Our customers might. :-)
What he/you are looking for is this project.
(the website is a bit down right now so it seems, see google, you know the drill)
It's been on slashdot before...
Maybe partly because of the new format:
From: Andy Whitcroft
[..some describtive text..]
Signed-off-by: Andy Whitcroft
Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton
Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds
The good thing that came out of all the SCO-crap.
MacOSX/Darwin and supposedly NT/200x/XP are not.

I think they are send to all@hotmail.com or something, I'm not sure, I don't have hotmail anymore.
for example use a 'Touchscreen BoomboxPC', there was an article about that on the frontpage for god's sake:
1 0&mode=thread&tid=137
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/30/14142
I'm disappointed the Slashdot editors didn't notice that ...
you are new here, right ?
People will go back to using a Netscape browser (in this case Firefox) if it is better and supports websites better.
Just like that, no problem.
Just like people will download a flashplugin.
Actually it's a lot easier to install a firefox then an IE.
(that's how/why it _will_ work)
Middle mouse button
I guess this is for people who's native language is not english and are not all that computer knowlegdable.
Not sure, but I think one issue is, in the Win32 world things need to be binary comp. where as in the OSS world, source comp. is enough.
If you have a vuln. in a Debian package, you do
apt-get update && apt-get -u install package
You'll see that (especially if it's a library) all kinds of other packages will automatically be upgraded
The same will not happen in the Win32-world.
It will run Debian.
W2K == NT5 (and XP == NT5.1 if I'm not mistaken)
Maybe with HTTP-keepalive ?
Or maybe using UDP, because I saw something scary about HTTP over UDP in the 'new' Evolution Exchange Connector source.
Why ? Because it's already payed for and there is no need for something better ?
Why replace something that works, good enough ?
I wouldn't call a fairly modern Web-browser compatible with eachother, but then again, part of my job is being a webdeveloper.
So I might be a bit disgrunted.
http://www.opengroupware.org/ ?

And WEP is secure ? I don't buy that.

Well, I hope this is a clear description.
