So where do I sign up? I get paid to write SEO content for dog trainers, wart removers, and tin-foil hat conspiracy believers, so writing GOP gorp would fit right in. Please contact www.phoenixstudios.com.np for more info. thx!
I found the Blue-on-Blue reports interesting...I suspect the military is really pissed off about those details going public. The sheer number of IED reports is pretty astounding, and makes the US government's delay in getting proper armor plating for the troops stand out. All the rest of the hoopla I just don't get. Amnesty International blaming the leakers? People angry about WikiLeaks? The world has gone insane.
Here here. Without space nuts the cosmic squirrels would starve, or turn to cheerios. (http://lemurking.wordpress.com/2008/09/11/hadron-collider-move-over-for-the-squirrel-smasher/)
I'm curious, if you download say the Google Earth file and start hunting around the sites of these "incidents" marked "secret," are u in violation of any laws? If US customs took your laptop and discovered these documents on your hardrive, would u be accused of espionage? This is all very confusing, considering the material does not look sensitive to a layperson, in fact, it reads like a war correspondent diary albeit all in abbreviations and acronyms.
I think we can all/. all we want about this topic, but we're screwed. Net Neutrality is soon to be a thing of the past, and Privacy along with it as we all have to start putting in our credit card number just to watch a video at a decent speed. The maturation of the internet is coming about, and the ultimate goal of sucking the bucks outta all users is soon to be the established norm. Perhaps it's time to look for something else altogether.
We will continue to use real people here as they cost less then the software plugs to recreate/replace them. I'm sure Broadway just sees this as a business decision, just as we do in the developing world, where human labor is much cheaper then machines.
I've just had it with CC, copyright, and IP issues. Is it time to just let it all go? I create for a living, and I get my pay up front - or before initial release - for everything that I do. Most things I write I just throw out there...many of the things I draw or photograph, same thing. I get paid a fair price at release for everything else. After that, it's free to the world, out there, and whatever happens happens. This seems like a sane way to live, instead of always worrying about infringements, lawsuits, and other related IP anxieties. But I'm well over 50 now, so issues like this just don't seem so serious as they once were.
There were one or two above, but I agree with you, it seems any article on/. with the word "Apple" in it invokes a geyser of penis rants, arguments about the iPhone, and fanboy am/am nots. I too would like to read something intelligent on the subject presented, as I am not sure that I even care. I use mobileme and iCal and everything works great on the web, on my machines, and on my phones. I'm guessing the issue at hand is about having an alternative to calendering for those now on exchange servers, but not sure. Should have known this is not the place to figure things out. Cheers!
Well this build seems to "impact" the standard install so that it's pretty much unusable, bookmarks are not transferred and none of the essential addons are compatible...however, it's easy to just go back by replacing the.app on a mac with a backup. I tried it, like it, but can't use it till addons like 1password or xmarks or downloadsthemall catch up.
"Suite" now means a bloatload of worthless outta-store apps that are never worth the money paid, yet are "upgraded" every 6-18 months like a magazine subscription.
Can u post a good replacement motherboard that's on the market today (cheap) that will cost the least to upgrade our dead optiplexes? i considered ordering just the caps, but that's a bit over my head replacing all of those. i just want to use the boxes to run some linux servers...thx!
I got two 270s at an employee firesale in 2009. two months after paying two hundred for each of them, they both died. bad motherboard, capacitors suspected. it looked like a good deal, and only made based on my perception that dell made workhorses. oh well...
Seriously, mount the plates ala iPad format in the rear and front windshields, and that gives you driving cameras, handsfree cell phone, and millions of other apps. Police will have access to "Who Is This Bozo" app so the walk back to the patrol car can be eliminated, providing more Krispy Kreme time during the day. Integrate all fast pass accounts, and u will be able to drive in the car pool lane for just 49.99 a trip. This is the perfect example of California once again taking the lead in prudent use of technology, while at the same time saving you, the tax payer...what?
Most Thais view the monarchy as a symbol of national pride, mutual respect, and is part of their overall spiritualism. For example, before any movie begins everyone stands to the national anthem and images of the current King doing good deeds and meeting with the public. It reminds me much of how we used to say the pledge of allegiance in grammar school. Many Asian cultures (past and present) have rules against defamatory content re: the monarchy, with Nepal being one of them up until the current decade. It's really not a big deal to anyone over here...it's more a form of public politeness then anything else. As far as this being some form of political censorship, think again, it's not. The Thais have much more freedom to express their political views then say Americans. Can anyone imagine a protest in America where LAX was shut down for a week and filled with protesters against the Bush regime? How about the takeover of Times Square by the Tea Party People for a few weeks, complete with cots, barbed wire, and slingshots? It would never happen; the protestors would be shot (perhaps) dead and then carted away within a few hours. Hell, try smoking a fag on the beach in LA and u get a ticket! .
The last time I lived in the US, all wifi at starbucks was free (circa 2003 or so). Some of the locations would leave their routers on 24x7, so while traveling in a campervan I would park near one of those for free service and to get my work done (travel writing). I guess things changed when I left, but now are coming back full circle. The paid wifi hotspot experiment in America must have failed...
100% accurate. Why blame leakers unless it's your bank or other important association? Just give these companies a disposable email address for any commodity purchased.

Leave 'em in the dust to die like old dinosaurs that became irrelevant and then toxic. Seriously, if an org can't load a real OS and virtuals of anything they need, want, whatever - let 'em become bones and buried.
I hoped they paid billions for the keyword 'cause typing that into google gives you the first page with no BP propaganda whatsoever, unless you include what is being said in newspaper articles and wikis. Ha!
As far as I know, there is a jailbreak for the iPad, there was a dude here in Nepal with one running on local telcom prepaid sim, which was just cut to fit the mini-sim holder. All of the above sounds nuts, as anyone outside of the AT&T dominion can just jailbreak and tether an iphone in about 15 minutes, and just pop in a local sim card and away you go. Outside of the US, you own your phone and can do whatever you want with it.
I wonder if a nuke in the middle of the night placed strategically in the gulf of mexico would keep folks in Louisiana up at night? They could have thrown in some oil-related buzzwords as well. Seriously, who pays these researchers for this tripe...tax payers?
Good riddance! As mentioned many times here, Limewire was just a mess. Vuze is a much better idea/implementation. Wondering if they will be next on the legal chopping block...
I agree, but there is a lack of any real news most days and these spaces must be filled to appease the/. masses. The Diaspora*/facebook story is a great example. NYT regional news did that piece to promote some homeboys working on an after-school project and then it's picked up here and debated ad nauseum, as if it's a real story of international importance. But as they say, that's/.:)

Yes, it's kinda like having a high-res perfect image of a 100$ bill... is that legal?

jailbreak the phone, go to Cydia, and you get numbers:)

Ha! good point. Only America is more cunning and insidious. Hanging chads and lobbyists get the same job done.
