According to the VZW site, the plans are $15 for 150 MB or 29.99 for unlimited.
It works quite well too, battery life around 8 hrs continuous use. Only 5 devices max though, but I can't imagine actually using more devices at once over a cell connection.
The article on Bad Astronomy actually specifically mentions that the black hole is no longer consuming matter. The AC did not say the black hole evaporated, but that it is no longer consuming matter, therefore there are no jets. Perhaps you meant to respond to gman003?

Sure there is a buffer so a large amount of data will queue up instead of trying to send all at once, but there is also no reason not to send the first packet as it hits the buffer. Why wait when the line is yours? The only wait time is involved in the Physical layer, and only on pre Gigabit/pre switch, and that was the wait for another computer to finish its use of the physical line to prevent collisions.
