"Learned legal scholars and Supreme Court Justices disagree. What is your background and what law degrees do you hold?"

Yes, because we all know that only the people in power have the right to interpret public law and policy.

Although many do not take advantage of it, much of the constitution is written in words every citizen should be able to understand. Perhaps some uses outdated wording, but with a little time just about anybody with 5th grade reading skill and a 7th grade comprehension level can understand the meaning behind much of the constitution. Theres little reason why a 'learned legal scholor' can comprehend words any different than an ordinary citizen, it comes down to how your morals and values affect your interpretation of the texts, which is open for everybody who is affected by such texts to decide.

I am little more than a typical Alaskan Computer Nerd, but I have read my nation's constitution, and I feel I know it represents and what it covers. Too bad lately it is mainly showing me where my rights are being tampled by recent lawmakers and enforcers trying to get into the history books.

The oil companies' footprint in the north slope is extremely small, and the amount of money that they pour back into the communities in Alaska is tremendous. People like you with your self-righteous babbling hurt the US more than any oil company could. Oh, and on the subject of 'oil worshippers', im sure you'll be happy when we run out of oil and you can't drive your minivan to soccer practice or buy your bottles of cola. Fools that believe that drilling has ruined Alaska should ask those that actually have lived there, and they see little downsides, but do love what the industry has done FOR the people.

Pitting PS2 vs X-Box as Linux vs Windows is a pretty insane thing to do. Dreamcast as well offers Windows to those who wish to use it for an OS, and those games that run on it dont give the BSOD. What makes you think the X-Box, running an even more stable version of windows, is going to do the same thing? Not to mention PS2 is the first Linux useage in a console, the chance of Sony screwing this up is pretty high. Kudos for them using linux as the OS, but the OS does not exactly make the system.

Imagine how much PS2 would be if they used an OS other than Linux, would be interesting to see, as if its not insanely high enough already.

The horrible thing about posts such as this is that it represents the Linux and Open Source communities as a whole. The idea that "Microsoft is Evil!" is just dumb. It saddens me that people cant see that there is room for Windows and Linux at the same time.

Microsoft creates alot of jobs for people, when compared to Linux, which created reletively little if you look at the number of linux software makers to people who make software for Windows.

While a couple people stealing a few copies of NT Server isnt a big deal, if you add up all the totals it is a huge deal. Billions of dollars that rightfully belong to Microsoft arent getting there.

As for the posts about "What if a company who made software that works set the standards...", my NT box has been up for months without a slowdown, now I dont know about you, but I'd say it works great.

But guess what. I love them both! Yes! As strange as that is, I run both linux AND windows and love them both. Linux is an awesome server (altho I prefer BSD, I'm one of those people without alot of time and rpms save me that time, call me a weenie.)

I'm actually saddened by the linux community. THe whole spirit of "Free software! Free speech!"is darkened by the "You use microsoft? hahaha, loser!" mentality. Last I checked, Slashdot wasnt a linux only website. Its dominated by linux users, but most of you probably havent even see win2k, and you're already judging.
