LMAO. That deserves some mod points but sadly the overlords at slashdot haven't consented to grace me with some in a while. I have excellent Karma so go figure.
"I can't imagine why more companies don't do this."
3. Their current system uses "On Hold" as a performance measure.
Excessive hold times actually count against the call center metrics but this callback program doesn't. If it was used more often by other companies they wouldn' have quite as many pissed off people calling them.
Samsung has a pretty good reputation so that plus a good review in Consumer Reports influenced me to purchase their product but considering the cost of HD tv's these days I don't think I'm ready to risk that much cash on one of their products again. I actually looked at the Westinghouse product as well so maybe I should have gone for that instead. They were highly rated by Consumer reports.
I don't think those are local cops you've got knocking on your door. More like FBI. I suspect you might not want that kind of attention as they will label you a terrorist. That sort of thing seems to be in vogue these days.
Well you don't think of the Westinghouse brand when you are shopping for hdtv's but Consumer Reports actually scored several of their models very high when compared to such giants in the field such as LG, Samsung, Sony etc. I'll never buy a Samsung tv again. Two years later and I've got problems with the lamp which caused a huge dark spot to appear in the middle of the picture as well as a split picture with 2 different resolutions and other problems.
I think it's called Comcast 4u or something like that. If there's a large que of calls you get the option to have the company call you back when it's your turn. I can't imagine why more companies don't do this.
Tomahawk missiles are not currently launched from UAV's. You mean Hellfire missiles. They are small enough and still keep the stealth profile to a minimum.
..why Apple's "Walled Garden" for the iPhone is such a bad thing?
The parent should not have been modded down by some android lovin fanboy as he has a valid point. I don't always agree with walled gardens but if you figure how much sensitive information is on these phones it looks like a good idea for some people.
Disclaimer
Yes I do own the current Iphone and no I am no fanboy. Considering all the bad shit I've seen about smartphones I think this is my last.
I've tried Pandora a couple times, but they often play songs I've never heard of --- or music from groups I like but not songs I like.
The point of Pandora is for you to customize your station by voting thumbs up or down on each song. That allows you to customize it to your musical taste. It's good to hear some artists that you're not familiar with as it broadens your horizons.
I *do*, however, have a huge problem with you trying to fuck over everyone else, demanding they live their lives by your ideology.
The parent didn't say anything in his post that leads me to believe he is pushing his agenda. He simply stated that he's sick of patent trolls wageing war. It does get a bit old.
You make a very good point but most of us have been lulled into complacency and are only interested in what's on tv tonight or what teen supermodel got caught doing something she wasn't supposed to do. Only when something really big that affects a lot of people from all walks of life will things actually change. Look at Egypt, thirty + years under a dictator with massive joblessness and poverty and the people are just now starting to act.
Mod parent up. Sorry I used all my points. This is a very good point and though I haven't been following this situation closely the general perception I had was that Egypt doens't have a military problem, it has a dictator that is not doing a good job of making the people happy.
DAMN I was going to say that. I hope he had one of those Sony trojan horses in his hard drive. I'd be really happy to see that do some damage to their network.
That Wikileaks may have just found themselves a new revenue stream. Provided of course that this guy has money. He did a pretty sleazy thing and should be called out for it.
Can anyone say Sony Root Kit? Disabling autorun was a good (if long overdue) idea but it's like closing the barn door after the horses have been let out.
I would do it because I have a family and taking care of my daughter is more important than anything else. Of course it would be different if I was single with no dependants but everything changes when you have kids.
Everything must go. NASDAQ was just the first step. Better go check the basement of the social security building in MD. I'll bet you'll find the hackers there. Oh um bring some firepower with you.
Seriously though, that must have been one talented hack.
As a minimum, a dialog should be displayed on the receiving device so that the user must personally accept the application that is being installed.
That'll never work. Can you say drive by attack? Users don't look at these things and criminals know it. That's why people get their pc's infected with all sorts of nasty bits. Oh yeah 800 viruses and spyware found on your computer!!! Click here to clean your pc. Google needs to make it right not just put a band aid on it.
The sackers are now the sackee's. LMAO poetic justice.
The varnish guru's have been at it again. I just got the ability to post on the site from my work computer after 4 months of inactivity.
I agree that we should be trying to inject life into the planet but it needs to be done at a controlled pace so we don't make any mistakes.
...Echelon has more clock cycles available.

One more overpriced toy that I'll never have. Next

So what you mean is "That'll never work for fools."
Ok....you got me there but Google still needs to make it right.
