Here's how it would go down EVM guy: Ok if you use your considerable influence to get my machines into polling area x I will change y amount of votes thus getting you reelected. You are not directly supporting the musicians when you buy their product. You are supporting the record company (AKA the root of all evil). If you want to directly support the musician got to their concert and buy their merch. Not only does that money go directly to the musician it also supports all the folks who work for them. If more musicians would follow the allman brothers and sell soundboard bootlegs they could realize greater profits and give the fans what they really want.

I don't think so. How many people use dial up any more? It's an interesting question though. I thisnk their primary business (based on my observations) is a content provider. I work for a cable internet company and a lot of my customers still use them. It's interesting that the line between content provider and ISP is so blurred for some of these people. I often wonder what AOL would look like today if they invested some of that cash they made back in the 90's in a nation wide cable isp.

It must be nice to make general statements regarding the character of people you have never met. Watching some poor schmuck get his head cut off serves no practical value. Since all of the programming is going to high definition you don't honestly expect Comcast to broadcast (over cable as you noted) in analog and HD.
