Because he was hospitalized in Cambodia and later went missing
Yeah..... that's exactly what happened Please.. the man has money and no interest in giving it back or spending time in jail. He's long gone folks. Any sane person would have done the same thing.
I'm surprised that this information could be obtained in the first place. Due to the overwhelming "Me Too" culture in Washington this is par for the course. It wasn't always like this though.
^^^ what he said. Unfortunately my country is not the only one that has culturally walled off types. and there will always be some business that is willing to cater to those individuals. When I went to Scotland I saw the Falkirk Wheel (righteous) and Edinborough.Falkirk is a nice sleepy town with a lot of charm. Edinborough is a tourist trap surrounded by a few centuries of historic landmarks. I wanted to take a bunch of pictures but the damn tourists and those double decker busses kept getting in the way. What I'm saying is that it's not american culture that destroys an otherwise beautiful place. There will always be a certain set of people that have no desire for adventure and always want a bland vacation. As such there will always be someone waiting to capitalize on that.
According to my local NPR station which has been covering the shale fields out in Western PA the companies involved expect to get another 20-30 years of oil from that shale. Let's hope they are wrong.
After the rootkit issue I swore off all Sony products. It's a shame because they do make some decent hardware but they still need to embrace open standards and generate some trust by doing some good deeds before I buy any of their products again.
first, they say this now after spending tens of billions on lobbying for and creating ACTA.
second, this is what we've been screaming for 10 years.
third, they have the monopoly
Maybe you shouldn't be an Oracle customer. I hear IBM is giving them a run for their money. Ellison is acting the asshole so I guess he had it coming anyway.
I had a customer yesterday that wanted to change her email password so that it could be the same as the checking account and had me do it because she couldn't figure out the " stupid wavy letters thing" (captcha). She was bitching all the time about security requirements (numbers letters min 8 w caps) but she might as well have given me the keys to her bank account. For the most part my customers don't care about security untill someone has drained their bank account and put a bunch or fraudulent charges on the credit card. Whatever...not my problem.
Smartphones are an extension of your personal life and letting the law pry into that without a subpoena
is a dangerous path to walk. You let the law do something like this without a warrant and they are trampling on your personal freedom not to mention potential guilt by association. If law enforcement wants what is in my dumb phone they can go see the judge. F#@$#^% the man.
You're missing out on the why, Samsung has said Apple is using their 3G wireless patents. This is simply retaliation for Apple blocking Samsung's Galaxy sales in Europe.
That's right. Apple should have seen this coming. These big corporations are playing like babies and someone needs to take their toys away.
Yeah but it's not likely that they would invest that kind of money in optics like that for an ez pass. If they ever start pulling that bullshit in my state I guess I'll be paying cash. Big brother does not have my permission to photograph me in my car when I'm breaking the speed limit and email me a ticket. That's bullshit.
On the subject of NASA and insanely dangerous and unstable: that reminds me of the video footage of the first moon landing. Talk about flying by instinct and not much else. I don't even think Neil Armstrong had an altimeter because he (or his co pilot) needed to look down at the window bt his feet to judge how close he was before he fired the retro rockets. Talk about balls.
A group of New York senators just made themselves the next target of anonymous. Think of the childrenz... I don't need the nanny state thinking of my child. The state can concentrate on it's own affairs thank you. This is just bullshit and I hope they all lose their jobs.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
That's nice. You know that the Obama administration is just making policy as it goes along right???
except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger.
That gives the administration permission to do what ever they think is necessary.

Business as usual in Washington

I think you mean Consumer Trolls.
This is such a slashvertisment. I'd expect this kind of thing from Google news but we should be better than this.

WHATEVER. Apple should just stop being an a$$hole and play nice with the other 4 year olds in the playground.
DHS is walking down a very steep slope with this "technology". Who knows where this will end though I hope it ends in the scrap heap.

they're selling us. It sounds good but I'll believe it when I see it (vaporware?).

Yeah on slashdot he is THE asshole. I stand corrected.
LMAO righteous.

LMAO corporate speak translated for the common man.
+1 Well Played, Sir
definitely well played sir.
Well if it has solar panels (pretty good assumption) I'd say it's recharging.
He can start by bitchslapping these stupid closeminded assholes that obviously deserve to go to hell. F$%^#%$ the religous right.
