Their attention is obviously not directed at us (See lobbying, MPAA, RIAA) so we've got to do SOMETHING to get their attention.
Alternatives to RIAA/MPAA entertainment should be #1 priority to anyone who doesn't enjoy them having such tight control on our government. If the artists would actually start standing up for citizen's (notice I didn't call us consumers) rights and liberties then there would be less of a problem here. Until then, the machine lives on...
it's a bitch about slashdot and how shitty the articles are so it's modded +4 insightful.
newsflash! nobody forces you to come here! besides, I've seen 2 posts on this particular story from you. must not be that bad.

anyways, the LCD display and a few buttons won't ever happen. the most you could hope for is a wireless keypad to do basic controls and move the mouse cursor around with a built-in trackball.
It's still just a midrange PC with Red Hat installed.
I can do wonders with an extremely old computer with Red Hat. With a midrange PC I could pull of plenty of useful things. It may not fry your eggs but its more than just a midrange PC with Red Hat installed.
The problem with the price fixes in the US has all to do with monopolies. I know this first hand.
If I could pay 100 bucks a month for a PRI/T1, then I would charge my normal ratio of customers per line with the lower cost involved.
Unfortunately, like most of the US, my ISP runs where there is only 1 telco. That 1 telco, does not like to drop its prices at all. Whether or not their cost goes down.
timing belt on a piston based engine goes bad, your timing goes way off and the engine won't be functional until its replaced.
that does seem to be a huge problem with this engine's design. it may be a timing chain (less prone to failure) on these engines though.
rotary is the best engine design when it comes to failures, but is also not very efficient and seems to have been dropped by everyone (basically mazda).
I would tend to trust and appreciate a company more that has spent its money to better the world of OSS and the world of computing with the interest in making a better product for everyone and not just its customers...

If you want to spend $5,000 on a single copy of an OS, then you may get LIFETIME support for the product. NT4 is almost 10 years old. They're NOT going to support it forever. Its ridiculous.
Try getting support for any 10 year old piece of software (from the vendor).
If you have someone who is realizing Windows is WONDERFUL (sarcasm intended..duh), give them this book and the latest distro of choice (mandrake/redhat for ease of use). Help someone else be released from the borg.

so you're saying we have roughly 3.5 million dead iraqi's, and the rest only have 1 leg?
Warning: This drug may cause cancer or reproductive harm. In lab rats, anyway. YMMV

Good point. And 4 paragraphs into the article at that.
A good read but why can't the editors read the article? too busy posting a copy of the last article their teammates posted?
its a "because we can" article & modification.
anyone serious about being headless and saving space would get a rack and use 1u/2u servers.

did you read the text of the link?
