I often find annoying or catchy tunes stuck in my head- when it happens it doesn't seem to impact on my ability to do whatever task I'm working on. Then on separate occasions I might try multitasking but it all goes to $h1t. Maybe this article explains it?
Designer babies = less genetic variability???? WHA?????
We know which genes we are trying to eliminate. What makes you think we can't put it back later?
Each gene could be stored digitally in a world wide database, ready for synthesis at any time, and any place.
Furthermore, in the future people will be able to change their genetic composition AFTER birth using a combination of viral medications and genetic salves.
The real problem will be patenting, but save that for another discussion.
Choice will give us more options and variability. Not everyone wants to have blonde hair and blue eyes. Goto Asia and look at all the people dying their hair brown, blonde, and blue (and purple and red).
Provided we safe guard our genetic resources, we have a moral obligation to mutate our offspring.
Rather than doing all that hardwork for someone else, why not work for yourself? It's by no means easy, but assuming you are resourceful enough to keep the business running, no one is ever gonna remove you from your employment.
I know you don't like earbuds, but just in case you get a pair, make sure you can get rubber replacements for them. I paid about $90 for a set of Denon headphones, lost the rubber on one of the ear pieces and am now stuck unless I wanna fork out another $90.
Japan has a similar problem. Adobe CS6 Master Suite
costs 334900yen ($4,203.59 USD), but if you buy it direct from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-CS6-Master-Collection-Download/dp/B007USFTJM/ref=sr_1_1_title_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1337964816&sr=1-1 it will cost you $2379 USD (189,613.80 JPY yen). That is about double the price!!! How can that be legal?
For STEAM, the prices in Australia were 2/3rds what we were paying in Japan. It seems steam have recently changed that though and are bum fucking us too. I would love to hear an explanation for the change, especially considering the value of the yen at the moment.
Are the exorbitant prices charged for US software also an attempt at fostering business in America???
(Adobe CS5 is double the price in many places abroad and there are ridiculous mark up prices on steam games purchased outside of the states-originally mark up was thought to be due to the currency exchange-but found to be false once America's dollar went to s#it)
Eventually the third world countries will catch up to the developed countries. After a bit of yo yoing things will sort themselves out.
May take a generation or two though.
It's all fun and games until you put a deadline on it.
No, they aren't smart enough to do that. They will just poison the local population. They've already made it legal to sell octopus and sea snails again. http://ajw.asahi.com/article/0311disaster/fukushima/AJ201207230006
As of the 1st of October Japan has been in on it too. http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2012/10/02/japan-rolls-out-stiff-fines-and-jail-times-for-illegal-downloads/
It's not stealing if they weren't using it, right?
Who is John Gruber??? Actually don't answer that. I don't give a fuck. Just give us the facts. I'm tired of wading through the bs.
Only if they were American.
Maybe some of them DO do it in the office?

That used to be true, but I'm pretty sure they changed the system to use jurors in 2009.
You probably already can. Just download the 3D printer template and off you go!

Japan would have you believe that "there's nothing more to see here" but that simply isn't true. http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2012/s3532725.htm

I hope mars doesn't burst into flames.
Totally agree.
Why do the resources have to come from the earth?
middle class........

I'd rather an emotion other than fear drove us to space, but if that's what it takes then that is what it takes.

I don't think they'd bother coming back.
Rather than look at the stuff that is demand, look at the things you like doing. You may not make much, but then again you might make a killing.
