"a device that steers a ship, aircraft, or spacecraft in place of a person" -- Merriam-Webster
Gee, how could anyone be confused about that?
Just this morning I saw a large Honda clearly labeled "Pilot". Somehow, I wasn't confused into thinking it was going to the airport to steer an aircraft.
In all fairness, the typical sales rep in China will tell the customer all manner of nonsense to land the sale. I wouldn't be surprised if an undercover expose shows them leading buyers to think the car is fully autonomous.
Twice now I've had updates kill minor programs such as the built in photo editor. But a couple of weeks later, another update brings it back to life. Perhaps this is an artifact of the faster release cycle. Fortunately this computer isn't use for any actual work. I can understand why my employer is still just barely finished rolling out 7 to all company laptops.
General Atomics is the market leader in drones, followed closely by Northrup Grumman. If you don't know this you should be embarrassed to be on Slashdot. DJI apparently makes toy remote control quadcopters.
At first I wondered why Dow Jones Industrial has to do with drones, but I guess DJI must some manufacturer of remote control quadcopters. Editors please make an effort to spell out abbreviations, please.
I guess I'm happy for you that you cheat your taxes but remind me why that gives you a moral right to whine about the difficulty of getting an ID to vote.
I am a US citizen, born here a very long time ago.
Since your last job (or retirement) a host of new laws have gone into effect requiring employers to verify identities of new hires. Pretending you don't know about any of that is all very libertarian-chic but doesn't mean much for the scope of the topic at hand.
I'm not a security expert (INASE?), but doesn't the fact that they can identify reuse of parts of a password mean that they aren't using a good one-way function to hash the password+salt?
No, because the process is almost always: Enter existing PW. Enter new PW. At that point, "existing PW" can be trapped as text for the few seconds it takes to get the new one and to compare the strings.
Will they be swimming in the waterways? Don't they have swimming pools with chlorinated water?
While their rooms are in the "olympic villiage" or whatever they're calling it, it's not a prison. Any of them can go hang at the beach in the afternoon once they've competed for the day.
The true area of overkill is the camera pixels. At a very small fraction of a square cm, they long ago passed the point of increasing the count actually meaning anything on such small chips. More important is improving things like the dynamic range, but it's hard to slap a marketing number on that.
If any local economy could do with subscriptions from the other countries to cover maintenance crews on permanent Olympic venues, it's definitely Greece.
Since Facebook has declared text to be dead I'm guessing all the instruction manuals were video only.
Have you never seen Ikea instructions? They consist of illustrations of a cartoon figure doing the assembly without any text. It's like a Henry cartoon.
Meanwhile the supposedly Communist government in China prohibits complete foreign ownership of companies in China. The best foreigners can do is just a little below owning half.

Trump's name is on a bunch of casinos but he strategy is to build them and sell fairly promptly. He owns a lot less than the branding suggests.

It's because we're thinking more, stupid skinny people!
Maybe skinny people are just thinking smarter, not harder.
I guess I'm happy for you that you cheat your taxes but remind me why that gives you a moral right to whine about the difficulty of getting an ID to vote.
I have never shown ID to work. Never.

i misread and through you were referring to prior olympics.
So really he's just made an old fashioned metal plaster lathing style building. No need to invite any kind of anti-cell phone angst.
A statement like "largest economy" is a simple number comparison. There's no bowing involved. Get help for your insecurities.
Brazil and Russia are the largest economies on their respective continents
Where do you get your numbers? Russia is the largest by geographical area but their economy is puny compared to China's.
Will they be swimming in the waterways? Don't they have swimming pools with chlorinated water?

Wouldn't there have been bans prior to the Olympics? How about neighboring countries?
This is the first olympics in south america.

We only want sex offenders going to bars and strip joints!
Based on election results, it seems they primarily go to the legislature office building and the executive mansion.
Can the governor really just declare what is and is not a parole violation? Also, what communication ensures the parolees get the memo?
with only English (UK) pack installed. I have never typed German in my entire life
Have you ever thanked an old veteran for that?
Ah, you've solved the small sample size problem. All they need to really do is test all actors who have ever been on a sound stage.
in Winter, you can only code... or drink. And back when my grandpa lived, we didn't have computers
Didn't he have Grandma?

"I have a lot of stuff in my fanny pack"
"Hi, I'm Randy"
Are just the ones off the top of my head. There are plenty more.
