Agreed, but that's exactly my point. Everyone has their own opinion and to act like there's a consensus / reference point on political "truth" is retarded imo.
The point of the democratic process is that each nation's citizens can choose what kind of government they want. Like I said, I don't come to Europe and complain about European policies. I don't have to live with them on a daily basis and I respect the right of their citizens to make whatever policy decisions seem right to them.
What the hell do other countries have to do with judging the American president's leaning? I wouldn't go to Germany and tell Merkel she's a flaming liberal just because her "spectrum is shifted" to the left.
I'm seeing a lot of posts wondering why the content isn't included on the disc / doesn't travel with the disc when it's sold. That's the whole point of this content. It's being intentionally sold only with new games to differentiate them from their used counterparts.
This is an economic move by the developers to cripple the used game resale market. EA pioneered this as "Project 10 Dollar" and it seems to be catching on. I personally think it's brilliant as I hate GameStop and their price-gouging tactics, but opinions are obviously going to vary.
They've already assaulted baked goods by banning trans-fats (certain baked goods need shortening for texture).
Given that describing trans-fats as poison would not be too far from the truth, I'm not sure improving baked good texture is a very good justification for using them.
Let's combat annoying pop-ups that require the user to stop what they are doing with...complaints for the user to fill out, thus stopping what they are doing! Wait, what?
Your analysis is spot on...from a long term perspective. Unfortunately, a lot of the lobbying decisions were made by CEOs with a 3 month stock price perspective.
Honestly, the people who wrote the patent laws probably had similar ideas. The problem is big business, which will tug and twist and throw money at laws, perverting them from their original purpose into a protection device for said business' revenue stream
People shouldn't be watching videos of a tragic event like this.
I agreed with the rest of what you said, but please take your self-righteous opinions about what people "should" be watching and shove them up the bodily orifice of your choice.
Jersey Shore is in Miami next season, FYI.
I was using ICQ back in 1998, and it had the option of displaying each chat character as it was typed.
This is called naked typing. Google wave has it by default and * is very off-putting.
Your absence of "it" dramatically alters your meaning.

You clearly have no experience with the US government.

then designing the drug so it will only effect those cells.
Great post. But please, can we stop using effect as a verb?
Why would they point that out when they can spin it to be seen as noble agents of change?
Doesn't GoDaddy.com practice extreme control over their clients?
Extreme control over their clients' boobs is more like it.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cronus: "Cronus or Kronos"
The article goes on to say that Saturn is the Romanic version of Kronos.
So yeah, the original post was perfectly fine. If you're going to be pedantic, at least be correct.
Yes. In English, it's an absolutely ridiculous grammatical construction.

Wii controllers don't kill people, people kill people.
Articles written by experienced people with a wide array of skills are stronger than those written by novices? Never could have guessed.

hummanity
– noun, plural -ties.
1. the portion of the human race that enjoys a homogeneous mixture of garlic and chickpeas
Talking like this eliminates any possibility that I can pay attention to what you are saying.
there is now a better solution than suffering in silence
This is the better solution!? Who the hell that's on /. doesn't know how to name their hotspot!?

Disregard this guy. He's clearly a proponent of the Ninja party. I can't imagine his Sensei will be pleased that his post was visible though...
Modded funny, but should be insightful...my first reaction was "wow that's a really good idea that I never thought of."
Last I checked, it was a privilege to host the Olympics. If you don't want them, I'm sure we can find someone who does.
