    I was using ICQ back in 1998, and it had the option of displaying each chat character as it was typed.

    This is called naked typing. Google wave has it by default and * is very off-putting.

    Your absence of "it" dramatically alters your meaning.

    Agreed, but that's exactly my point. Everyone has their own opinion and to act like there's a consensus / reference point on political "truth" is retarded imo.

    The point of the democratic process is that each nation's citizens can choose what kind of government they want. Like I said, I don't come to Europe and complain about European policies. I don't have to live with them on a daily basis and I respect the right of their citizens to make whatever policy decisions seem right to them.

    I'm seeing a lot of posts wondering why the content isn't included on the disc / doesn't travel with the disc when it's sold. That's the whole point of this content. It's being intentionally sold only with new games to differentiate them from their used counterparts.

    This is an economic move by the developers to cripple the used game resale market. EA pioneered this as "Project 10 Dollar" and it seems to be catching on. I personally think it's brilliant as I hate GameStop and their price-gouging tactics, but opinions are obviously going to vary.

    They've already assaulted baked goods by banning trans-fats (certain baked goods need shortening for texture).

    Given that describing trans-fats as poison would not be too far from the truth, I'm not sure improving baked good texture is a very good justification for using them.

    Your analysis is spot on...from a long term perspective. Unfortunately, a lot of the lobbying decisions were made by CEOs with a 3 month stock price perspective.

    Honestly, the people who wrote the patent laws probably had similar ideas. The problem is big business, which will tug and twist and throw money at laws, perverting them from their original purpose into a protection device for said business' revenue stream
