How come Switzerland suddenly has an opinion about everything? First the minarets, now violent games...did Zapp Braningan sent spies to stir up the place or what?
Yes, this is complete and utter bullshit. But in my opinion DLC is almost always some form of ripoff, because most developers are "doing it wrong". Nowadays it's become usual practice to announce DLC even BEFORE the game is out. Sure, it lets the customer know that the developers will continue supporting the game after it's released - but seriously, who in their right mind would think that games like Mass Effect 2 and Bad Company 2 *won't* receive any DLC? If the developers are already working on the content for the DLC along with the main game they should either a) push back the release date a little and integrate it into the main game or b) release the game and then offer the DLC for free when it's ready, like it was done with the first Bad Company (the Conquest Mode was included later). There should be a rule as to when DLC is allowed to be published - I assume everyone would love to download some more dungeons for Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, but paying for DLC the day the main game is released (see Dragon Age) it just a complete fuckover for the customer. And when the content is already on the disc...well, fuck you, developers. I'm not gonna pay for something I already own.
I'm wondering if the media are once again gonna start the usual "Videogames kill people" shitstorm. I'd love to see them label the Wii of all things a "training simulator for murder" etcetc. Would be damn funny to watch.
The logical action one takes after reading a newspost such as this is to fix the holes/bugs mentioned in TFA. But...if it all happens in the name of Chuck Norris, should one really dare?
I'm not saying it's better. It's just the only reason I kept my Wii, which I've originally bought for the games oh so long ago. As there are barely any games left worth playing (at least for me) the ability to run homebrew relatively hassle-free (you don't even need a modchip) was a huge reason for me to keep it. Of course there are other, and probably better alternatives, but why buy another piece of equipment when you already got a working one you're not using for anything else? (I know I'm voicing only my personal opinions here by the way, but I'm sure there are others who think alike).
The only reason I kept my Wii is because of all the homebrew you can run on it. If it weren't for that I'd have sold it a long time ago. Why is Nintendo so eager to alienate everyone who isn't a housewive or a "casual gamer"? Why are they trying so hard to alienate their entire former fanbase? First they stomp down on the fanmade Zelda movie, now they're prowling around sueing everyone they don't like. Why? As if piracy is really hindering their profits. The main customers for Nintendo are now casual gamers who don't even know about homebrew and therefore shove enough money down Nintendos throat anyway. Everyone else wouldn't want to buy or keep a Wii on the account of there being less and less worthwile games, so the result is that Nintendo is actually losing business by hunting down everything piracy- and homebrew related.
I know I'm gonna get modded down as Flamebait, but I don't care.
It's a new law (involving electronic devices and such) so of course it's still okay to break it. I mean, it's not even in the bible!
Besides: It's just too damn comfortable to spy on people over the phone or internet, much better than hiding bugs in people's houses and waiting outside in inconspicuous trucks. If for one can't see the FBI stopping anytime soon.
"...to keep their property unspoiled by fan's interpretation of the franchise..."
Are they serious? Nintendo doesn't even have a consistent timeline for the Zelda games, plus they're currently running the franchise into the ground (Link as an engineer, anyone?). So what the hell are they complaining about? They should be thankful they still have such loyal fans willing to put so much effort into something out of love for the franchise, even though Nintendo has done almost everything to alienate both hardcore gamers in general and their fanbase alike.
Nintendo, you used to be cool. Get your shit together.
Was the iPhone created by Steve Jobs in 7 days or was it a project that developed naturally during the course of time, by adapting to it's environment? Who knows...
It's a game, shut the fuck up.
So, "sparking the vacuum" will become the new "nuking the fridge"?
He's probably also one of those users who complain that firefox hogs all the computers memory if you have more than 100 tabs open.
If you bent them too much, they might just fly in an arc and come back down...
Enjoy your Ubisoft DRM then, sir.
And in Germany. Or at least they'll butcher it.
I request Claw-Plock.

If it were an apple issue, it would be i2K .
FINALLY they're doing something! Now we're safe from the likes of John Wayne Gacy. About damn time.
EXACTLY ...d'oh!

So Fonzie is now a body in outer space?
Someone mod this 'prophetic'.

People are drawn to the movie because it's shiny and goes boom and woosh. No deep explanation there.
Metal Gear.
That's all well and good, but the important thing is: Will it be able to run Crysis 2?
