    This is a crisis of high energy physics, not physics in general. For example, condensed matter physics is doing just fine on both the theory and experimental side.
    And by the way, we also have cool particles: Cooper pairs, Dirac fermions, (probably) Majorana fermions. Just to name a few :)

    You make a good point here. Usually a starting-point for totally new physics are unexplained measurement results like the Michelson - Morley interferometry measurements. With this in mind, there are some really big questions out there, like: what is dark matter/energy. The answer to which may be paradigmshifting stuff. On a less dramatic note, we still don't understand what makes high temperature superconductivity work. Understanding this phenomenon could lead to revolutions in "ordinary" condensed matter physics (not to mention a few Noble prizes).

    This may work if the real plan of Valve is to release a Linux based console having Steam. From there supporting Linux is a no brainer.

    let me continue. No because it is better if you have a good mentor. No, because you can't easily put wisdom and life experience onto a laptop / the internet. (sadly it is the widsom of the teacher that is most of the time lacking in schools with poor teachers)
