Yes, you can do that. You can even logoff from the aim service with a direct connection already established and continue to chat with them. I've done it.
Well it's possible they got most of them from other UCLA students, which of course could be on the Universities LAN. But, to be fair... for them it IS a normal connection. Maybe not for you, but your not everyone.
Maybe they could sell off the first post to IBM for an article and then the next article's first post could be sold to rackspace etc. Almost everyone read's the first post. If not the first post, maybe just some text before the first post but after the article. I usually try to ignore images and go for the text first.
My main request... keep the ad's as animated gif's. No Java. No Flash. No Shockwave. Just animated gif's. Those others take loger to load and don't run as well on slower machines.
Depending if the stuff is clear or not... if it's clear... suppose the crowd is running towards it and doesn't know. All of a sudden they fall down and have masses of other people falling behind them and quite possibly ontop of them. I would be very suprized if noone broke anything.
Soccer players, I'm sure have a better idea of how to fall than just the average Joe. Sure there are ways to fall that you don't break anything, but most of those ways are taught... not instinct.
I agree there should be more payment options. But ditching paypal I don't think would be a good idea. I've used it many many times and never had a problem. Paypal does everything they say they do.
So many people think it's upto PayPal to make sure you get your stuff. That's not what they do. They transfer money, and they do that extremely quick and very secure. They have a very simple job, too many people try to believe they have 10 diffrent things to do. Very simple. I've never had a problem.
I'm interested in those wires that seem to be connected to the inside of the case underneath the motherboard and then also accross the way. I might very well just be missing something but they don't seem to be connected to anything.
250 hours is an estimate. And probably 80-90% of that time was on the CAD drawings. Which, once they are done... don't need to be done again. It would probably take less than a day or two to put one together.
Of course that's by hand. If this were put into a manufacturing plant they could probably churn out these almost as fast as anything.
That's a nice idea, but my cpu's are all used 100% anyway. I run d.net and cruch all day. I don't want a website to take 50% of my cpu because some webmaster wants to increase his d.net stats.
It's a neat idea, but what about people that already have stuff running that uses their cpu? Noone has really given an answer on that.
I don't want something like this trying to run on my pc's. I have them already crunching d.net. Now there are going to be webpages that want to take away from my cpu cycles that are already being used. I don't think it's a good idea to do it without people knowing.
And I think it's upto the browser makers to make it that way. Cause you know there are going to be websites that just do it without warning. The browser has to let the user know, leaving it upto the webmaster is not a good idea.
If this does come into practice and it does affect my RC5 crunching, I will surf with scripting turned off. I'm not going to let someone leech something that I already need 100%.
Keep in mind, product activation is only part of XP Home edition. Not the Pro edition.
Unless the 25 legit copies that I bought at the local mall for a small company were the only Pro versions that didn't need to be activated cause MS think's I'm special.
What would be REALLY nice is if there were a simple solution to have multiple broadband connections. Right now I can only get cable, but with outages and slowness... I would love to have my computers have a multihomed internet connetion.
If I could have 3 (cable, dsl, power) that would be even better! Some people can afford this, but can't afford the nice Cisco routers.
Your hoping that it'll last? What's that supposed to mean? Do you hope that the companies will see that you bought one and wait at least a year before giving all the other people what they want? That's crazy talk.
You might not be "top of the line" but in no way does that mean you won't be able to play games. An old GeForce 256 will play most games today just fine. No you won't get ALL the new stuff, but if someone expects to... they need to be smacked.
You could always try CNN or ABC or NBC if you don't like it here. I'm sure there's lots of people that would love to see all the complainers leave.
You don't see the point of it being news, I don't see the point of you bitching about it. There are usually one or two stories a day on Slashdot that I just skip, they don't intrest me. Just move on, noone is forceing you to read it.
Believe it or not, I think windows is much better. Even X is.
Finder... that has no intuative understanding for what the hell that is. Desktop has a much better idea of what someone is talking about.... for example. I've used apple many many times. The way they name things and put things oddly out of the way is very obscure and I can't understand the thought behind it. They don't flow, it's almost like they took some ideas, put em in a hat and dumped em on a table. Nothing goes with what precided it. It seems very ad-hoc. Very unfriendly.
That could be said for most people in the workforce of america. Sounds like a REAL Job to me.
Same song or not, it's not his point.
Yes, you can do that. You can even logoff from the aim service with a direct connection already established and continue to chat with them. I've done it.
You could just ask them for the crack or go look yourself instead of hiring them. Of course I don't know what kind of friends you have.

Microsoft sells $100,000 Toilet Seats.
Possible connection there.

It's not impossible. They did it, they told you about it, they showed pictures. It's very possible.

hahaha That's great. mod up :p

I'll be sending some $$$ to slashdot soon.
Actually, you don't. He does.

SETI sucks. distributed.net!!!!!!!!!!!! w00 yea.

Relevance? No, not really.

Just imagine being able to control a Beowulf cluster with one of these!
