Oh BTW, it is Northpoint, so I guess I am kinda F*CKED!!!!

Canada has state provided healthcare so why do some canadians still cross the border to get surgery? Because the US does it better. Sure we have problems with drug companies conspiring to make money, but with no incentive to make new drug/techniques, we would all be screwed.

Oh BTW, if my neigbor does go crazy with an M-16, I can legally defend myself. I am glad I live where I can carry a gun, not so much for me but for my girlfriend who is smaller then me. A gun iz called the great equalizer, if a rapist is coming at her, she doesn't have to worry about trying to overpower him, She can "equalize" him.

  8. a few tips.. on Is There Still A Contract Market For Programmers? · · Score: 3

As someone who has done contract work before, make sure you get everything in writing (prices, goals, etc).

Also, take measures to make sure they cannot steal the product from you (don't give the the source code until they pay if possible). If you are going to be doing small, short projects with many companys you could check out Encomia. It does online contracts, digital signatures, etc (I haven't used it but a friend said it was good).

    Good luck!

  13. IBM always comes up with cool gadgets on Linux on a Wrist Watch? · · Score: 1

IBM always seems to come up with cool devices that might or might not be useful.

They have a device you can wear on your shoulder and when you shake someones hand, if they have the same device, it transfers your business card information THROUGH your arm. It would be used at tradeshows, etc.

There are many other devices but I forgot all the specific. Bottom line is, IBM has more R&D ppl then god and they are constantly turn out new ideas and products. This watch sounds cool, but the microdrive will be a more useful product.

My first /. Post is about violence. I wonder what that says about my personality... SOF is a very cool game. While the engine is outdated (Q2 engine) the level of realism is incredible. It adds a whole new level to the game. Shooting bots with a rocket gets old while plugging somebody in the crotch for an instant kill (yes, Groin shots are death shots) makes it more interesting. Also, I don't think that violence in games contributes to violence out of games. I am still just as appalled when i see someone get shot on the news as I was before I started fraggin. My advice is buy game and enjoy it. --LR
