Sometimes accelerating the process is harmful. You do not want to stand next to a tree that is going through rapid oxidation. Really what we are doing is incessantly scratching a rash and making it worse. The dirty little secret is that we can clean up our act without having to deal with any hardship.
Worst kept secret is all the A-bombs sitting there on the American bases, which I hope is not really true. They shouldn't be needed with all those floating launchpads nearby.
First we got the bomb and that was good because we love peace and brotherhood...
Maybe the 'aliens' went through a period of using RF during their evolution to better methods. Just watch for their version of "I Love Lucy" or "The Honeymooners"
We literally have the cart before the horse. It's a very unstable relationship. We need to learn the force of attraction, aside from the local sling shotting we do now. Radiation is fast and furious. Gravity is stable and enduring, hot or cold. If we can concentrate one, I don't understand why we can't the other, other than we're just not there yet. You know, a good 'old fashion' tractor beam to draw two masses towards each other. And a side benefit is that you won't get lost. Gravity is vastly underrated.
I sure do wish it were so, but more often than not, the truth is used to defend censorship. So, now we have sealed and 'classified' documents to make it all official. The way to circumvent that is to write fiction... and, with a nod and a wink, claim none of it is 'true'.
Just playing the odds on that one:) Didn't realize I'd hit a nerve.
Actually you didn't. Your 'bad faith' shtick just kinda brought back a faint memory of what the term actually means in light the claim. The original statement that I responded to implies that you are trying to diminish the corruption of the ruling parties (I guess the link wasn't explicit enough), that we shouldn't bother looking for alternatives because they are *just as bad*. Well, you're probably right, but we won't know that until we try.
Whatever, maybe McAfee can be the name for the non-voter block to pick. With their 60% majority, they could win it for him. I'll have to look into that. Oh! the schadenfreude! It's always worth more effort than trying to reason with republicans and democrats. They are hopeless. If voting for someone else is so ridiculous to you, then you would need to explain, without being a damn cheerleader, why I should bother at all, because if there really were the only two choices on the ballot, I wouldn't. Since we're out here in genpop, feel free to tell the whole world what a moron I am. It is possible they didn't hear you the first time. Lay it on nice and thick. I can take it.
I've worked very hard on my reputation as a reprobate.
Oof! Bloody lightweight! You are failing miserably. Normally you are showing the exact opposite and are quite reasonable, with only the smallest hint of the fanboism. The real reprobates are long gone from this place. *sigh* I miss them.
There is no bad faith on my part there. And on top of that, your generalization of all political parties just might be a bit excessive, since your sample size of two is fairly small. For a change try electing a different one and see what happens.
Oh, and while we're on the subject of 'bad faith', since you're one of those who claim I don't vote, I would have to say that you, like so many, are engaging a bit of projection there. Not that I really care. It's just one of those little things that I bump into an awful lot. From you it kinda hit me by surprise. I shall reduce my expectations of the Slashdot 'intelligentsia' from now on.
I think it's okay if they do this. Let's just make sure the IRS reevaluates their tax status, and that of their biggest donors...
*cough* petrified
We have ABS, self parking, soon self braking, etc. For obvious liability purposes, I prefer to have the fully automatic, so I can blame the car.
So long as it is substantiated with much direct and indirect evidence.
Nobody likes to touch that little tidbit... Maybe the church should get on board
At election time, we just get to choose which group of puppets will pretend to have our interests at heart.
And we LIKE it!
I can't remember how it goes;
*We can't distinguish ourselves by category, only by degree*
It's a bit short...
From the first. It's not January 0...

First Name: Abby
Naaah... this has gotten tiresome... you win.

:-) hee hee hee... getting defensive now, are we? Believe me (or not), you're mild dishwashing detergent who thinks he's Lava soap.
Oh yeah, Canadian, what, six?

*sigh* Canada.. so easy to silence the critics.
Kind of a silly question, since that is exactly what they do. This is purely cosmetic bullshit to cover up the serious stuff.
However, that also formalizes a cartel of payment systems...
Well, I would hope this is a place where Bitcion can fill in, and other alternatives can emerge.
Spellcheck?
Tag! You're it...
And watch out, misspellings can be intentional. Got your attention, didn't it? That's all they need. Do make sure to click on the ad...

I hope it wasn't this poor guy that hit you...
Always the conspiracy nut.
It's not nuttery. It's one of many remote "payment assurance devices"
