And what about ICE9? Didn't you watch "The Recruit"? One virus, that can be sent through the POWER LINES, man, not even the internet, not even the phones, man, the POWER LINES and it could destroy the entire American power grid!
Hm, IANAL, but I don't think that would fly in court. They're sending me unsolicited advertisement, and I'm sending them unsolicited building materials. I'm not purporting the package to be anything but a brick. I'm not purporting myself to be anyone but myself. I mean, I assume that is what the form is for... after all, I wouldn't actually *buy* anything from these goons. You are probably right about them chucking anything over a certain weight. Actually, the biggest risk I see is some disgruntled postal worker gunning me down...
You are absolutly correct. As far as I can tell, Windows was designed to turn my computer into an overpriced Atari 2600 replacement. Or maybe it's some kind of value-added DOS distribution.
But the fact of the matter is, if it's between the lives of 500,000 people and a plague that could possibly end the world and destroy all of humanity... I know I would consider using nuclear weapons to destroy the British Isles and cauterize the remenants of the disease.
But, if you destroy Britain, is there really any humanity left?
That's what I have to say. Yay! How long until le gouvernement songe puts pressure on the people/institutions that support this, though? I can see some funding/people being hurt already...
The G5s uses dual processors more efficiently than pentium systems use dual processors. The load balancing tends to be more even, from what I can tell. In fact, the architecture was, to some extent, optimized FOR dual processors. Additionally, the G5 is designed to be a good floating point/vector processor.
You know those little cards they include, prepayed postage and all, so you can response to order their wonderful products? How convient! Glue a brick to it, so that the postage/address side shows. Now put it in your mailbox. You know how much it costs to ship a brick?
I attribute my early programming brain damage to BASIC on Apple IIs. Never quite did figure out if it was the Apple II or the BASIC, but don't take that stuff lightly!
... so what, you want drivers that were written by an artificial intelligence? a dolphin maybe? or perhaps you would like your device drivers carved onto a meteorite and dropped on you by an alien intelligence?
It reminds me of that comedian that said "Isn't it ironic? No, Alanis, it's unfortunate. You've been singing for two whole minutes and haven't yet said one thing that is ironic."
I think it's just fine if apple uses a specialized malloc() library. It was built to take advantage of the G5 processor, and they are candid about that. What is really going on is that they are trying to even the playing field a bit, because the compilers used on the intel-type machines have been in development on those processors for a long time. They already have a lot of optimization built-in. The G5s are supported, but haven't been for long. Apple is trying to simulate the malloc() library that might be used later, once they can makemore efficient. Oh, and not to mention, this 'argument' he puts together depends on you not reading the same PDF he claims to have read. Go download it and make your own informed conclusions. From the perspective of a long time programmer and x86 user...this doesn't appear too misleading. Anymore than what intel clims HT can do (another flaw in this guy's argument).
Those typically use the battery to charge a capacitor which can discharge it's stored charge much faster than the battery itself. Plus, voltage can cause a stunning effect (it hurts a lot, things that hurt a lot can make you pass out). This doesn't mean that it is close to killing you.
I'm not left wing. I'm not right wing. I'm libertarian. We can't decide what we are. And cs-hacks.tk wasn't left wing or right wing either. It wasn't even political. It was just a little flash movie designed to let idiots know what they are.
The difference is that apple owns the rights to the apple hardware designs, but they agree that my computer is my property after I buy it. A lot of PC manufacturers and Microsoft have it written in their agreements that basically your computer is still theirs even if you payed for it.
Without the ability to pause live audio, it seems to me like this is a lot like a normal radio/casette player, only digital. Oh, plus it can schedule record times. I think I'd rather stick to the 'traditional' solution, instead of this product which is apparently just riding the tivo trend.
And it's only so long before microsoft owns the rights to your PC, whether you have windows installed or not. Oh wait, happened already. You make me smile.
This is the kind of scheme AT&T originally wanted to use to provide it's customers with computing power. Actually, that's why they developed multics (kind of). And of course, UNIX killed it. Just like cheap servers kill this kind of 'IT-on-demand' stuff.
I regret to inform you that you have taken the test of humanity, and failed.

Why, you may ask?
Because we can.

Basic, just like cobol, cripples the mind. I think the only difficulty I ever had with C was that I had learned BASIC first.
You're obsolete!

It is to be buried next to the internet, the apple computer and the light bulb.

tee-hee.
And if you really can write a worm to use the MIME type exploit against a linux machine, do it.
Ok then, shut up.

In the words of (the now deceased) cs-hacks.tk:
You are an idiot. hahahaha ha ha ha haha ha ha ha.
