    I have come to the conclusion that there are some traditions and cultures that need to die out sooner rather than later, and I'm willing to apply the necessary explosives to make it happen.

    Some fundies from other cultures/religions have the same thinking like you...and some even put those words into action...something we can all agree that results in despicable actions.

    And when you forget to enter your password or go on vacation? Your account gets closed and you have to sign up again. Their billing cycle is on a certain day on purpose, it can't be done every single day for different users.

    We do (major game studio). Daily meetings should never take more than 15-20 minutes, even if the stakeholders are present and these dailies are only once a day. Our iterations vary, between 1, 2 or 3 weeks, depending on the projects and team members available. Iteration velocities, task estimations, anything agile related (retro meetings at the end of iterations, scrum, plannings, etc) is done and everything works great. We deliver more items for the stakeholders (and 95% on time), so they can play with them in their environment after every story is implemented and QA approved (once a day at least). Continuous integration and proper work methodologies are your friend.

    And how many times have you acheived this on the first try in complexe projects without going over budget? The fact that where I work (in the top 5 game studio in the world) we use agile and it works, says a lot towards the agile methodology. But I will agree that to make it work you need a team that understands it and actually does it. If the team acheives this, then it really is beneficial.

    All my friends that bought an iPhone 4 last year or this year will sell theirs or give it to a loved one to buy the iPhone 5. Apple's marketing war machine is truely one to fear...if you are "weak" enough to fall in their hands.

    Stuff like this brings out the inner child in me, wanting to explore and see these discoveries with my own eyes. Sometimes I wish I was born 500+ years from now so I could actually be able to explore these strange worlds with my own eyes. Not saying humans would have these places colonized but at least have some sort of outpost nearby able to fully explore these places robotically or with human presence.

    For slashdotters, the amount of algebra we use knowingly and unknowingly is much higher than one thinks in our daily lives. The amount of folks that use it wrong to come at their conclusions while chatting with them is even higher. I really hope they do require this.

    I for one would welcome our new Algebraic Overlords.

    Why do people download apps with ratings of 1 star out of 5 and beforing reading the reviews that state it is malware? I simply do not get it. Maybe I should create a device where people can just randomly click on buttons and stuff without anything happening since that is what is happening right now.

    My Android lasts around 1 day of regular nerd use (4 different launchers, tons of widgets, etc...) and is hooked up to my work's MS exchange account with no viruses.

    It seems to be related to the automatic "Feedback" in the settings menu being enabled by default. It seems to periodically send MS large packets of data. Turn off the automatic feedback to eliminate this.
