Well, in a lot of ways, SVG and all, the canvas tag, other DOM tricks let you do vector graphics already. Launched a web app the other day on app engine that queues up vectors fairly quickly for you... skibble is your multiuser napkin!
Two questions:
1. Could his idea work? I just uh, have a device that gets power from the air where-ever? No, uh, destruction of the human race?
2. If it cost a kabillion, ultimately, should we care? Or, is this what we really want/need?
3. Isn't this really an amazing inventor's last years doing some kind of "it's coming real soon now, boss" kind of thing?
I don't see any reason for us to speculate that hail was an insurmountable problem for the peeps at NASA. I just wish them the best with their underfunding. Perhaps the shuttle needs to be retired to just solely for Space Station work, and lets get money into outsourced small launches. Why couldn't NASA simply administrate and regulate universities, private individuals, and non-profits to start doing X-Prize like movement forward?!
I think this is very insightful... TPM is a prime example! There are some political blog heros that pointed out the partisan nature of many... but I don't know where they went.
I knew a guy that programmed a music "jukebox"... didn't have the heart to tell him that at most parties I went to the people just had a winamp and a folder open.
Anyone try turning 'em off? They get pretty quiet. While were at flamebait, though, seriously, coexisting with nature (ie, silence) is a serious question. Who was right? Bill Joy or the Unabomber? I guess both, eh? Ahh... move along...
... how this article for me loaded with an audio-enabled ad for Vonage that created a derivative work in my headphones over top of Radiohead.... hrmm... Did they have a license to do that in my ears?
That's right, it isn't open source, but you can make plugins that do damn near anything. I've talked briefly with Steven about this, but he just doesn't want it open source!
Xlobby is also a good choice with a great community, too. I have an XSL-T plugin for it to turn most RSS-enclosure feeds into the Xlobby database. You can get it WritTorrent.
Thinkingest is also a commercial entity providing BT+RSS solutions.
Since the greater thing we're talking about here is the combination of W3C's vision of the semantic web along with a peer-to-peer protocol that is abstracted in such a way that it can be dedicated to just one specific file, separate from any central index of all kinds of other stuff you may or may not want.
There is lot of research around this, and whether it's BT or RSS, versus OpenNap and RDF... it doesn't matter... Using existing standards to do Semantics+P2P allows for dedicated, large-bandwidth transfers of anything, despite how much bandwidth the individual has.
For instance, if everyone knows to watch a feed for new content, then the peers all join the swarm automatically when new content becomes available. If you can coordinate a p2p system like that, even a group of 5 people will see increased bandwidth and availability of the media.
ANT is a video aggregator for video blogs. Check it out!
Also, WritTorrent has a plugin that lets you post to your blog a.torrent of whatever.
I honestly think that BitTorrent + RSS is a perfect software model of a worldwide broadcast. Despite your available bandwidth, you can host a show with a global audience.
Ourmedia.org is a grassroots organization of the Internet Archive, videobloggers, and many others to create a single site (and perhaps even a bittorrent tracker) for any publishing or media syndication that is Creative Commons licensed.

How about three WII remotes together... you'd have a virtual room you could write on and move things around with your fingers?
thank you for the great response!

They didn't mention the speed at which they typed the new url? I'm *still* asked my WPM on silly web-based forms.

Oh how could you disrespect the family like this? Well...

that frood always talked about partical accelerators... just don't f'in cross the streams!
I dunno if you've worked with, or if any of us really have, long-term crucial data... Its cause is all but impossible to promote.
I'm sure Brewster would love it.

That's the plugin docs.
You're right... people are working on the TV stuff, there's a few message board posts about it.

My plugins @ writtorrent are open source.
I saw something that CBS gave TV in its current form 10 years... who knows? Maybe that's a bit generous.

How is BT slow and obnoxious? Perhaps you're confusing the screwed up message board sites with the actual protocol.
