  1. Re:User-Agent on UT2003 Gone Gold, Ships with Linux Support · · Score: 2

And what conclusions would you hope to draw from this?

A poster is 5up3r 3r33t if they use the latest bleeding edge mozilla?

Their opinion means less if they happen to be on a machine running windows?

That makes about as much sense as forcing people to reveal their CPU speed and amount of RAM so that we can moderate comments from people with fast machines up and slow machines down.

A lot of people don't remember the classic garage style PC upgrade - the PB-MAX mod.

To sum it up for those who haven't heard of it, what you do is remove all of your cards, your CPU, your RAM etc.... basically any place where there is some sort of electric contact being made. You then slather on a healthy coating of peanut butter. Now I know you are saying to yourself "but I just watched tech tv and they told me gold connecters are best!" but believe me when I say this: you can keep your fools gold because the true gearheads know skippy is the shit. My tests have shown that smooth PB tends to offer the biggest performance gains altho I've heard word that some of the newer crunchy brands are posting some nice numbers so your mileage may vary.

Just remember if you are new to the peanut butter mod scene use a plastic knife to apply it - otherwise you may ruin your hard-earned kit.

    Play safe!

Honestly, "learning a language" as the goal of a course is a community college concept.

Computer science teaches you things that extend FAR beyond learning language syntax. My last tough comp sci course involved no less than 4 different languages and we weren't "taught" any of them in the course - it was assumed we would learn the necessary syntax on our own. Lectures were focused on things like portability, performance issues, analysis of algorithms etc, concepts not tied to any once specific language. The languages used during the course simply allowed us to learn the underlying comp sci theory... Syntax is easy.

You are in for a big suprise, ATI is the WORST by far of any of the desktop user gfx card companies as far as driver support. They are infamous for releasing buggy drivers or discontinuing support for many of their lines at a moments notice. Compare this to Nvidia who releases a universal driver which covers years worth of part releases and is updated on a regular basis. Even if ATI releases a superior part they just shoot themselves in the foot by releasing shitty drivers on an unpredictable schedule. I used to like ATI back in the day but have been burned one too many times by them.
