    1) They didn't target Google only though. They also banned Boxee, PS3, Wii, mobile browsers on phones, IPad, and the Kylo browser. This could be seen from miles away. It strange that Google thought they would be treated differently. 2) The networks don't have a choice. They sold away the TV and mobile phone rights years ago. That why Hulu Plus cost extra. They have to charge you the same as they charge the cable companies.

    A DVI cable costs $4 if you get it from a cheap vendor like Monoprice. Best Buy will sell you a $60 dollar Monstar VGA cable as well.

    You can lobby. you can vote. you can inform. you can raise awareness. you can debate. but just ignoring the fact that it's illegal doesn't make it legal.

    This is pure nonsense. Jury Nullification is exactly that. Civil disobediance is exactly that. There is the law and then there is de facato law.

    Leachers feel guilt for taking music without paying anything for it. Deep down they know that they are theifs. The file sharing society lies to leachers and tells them they can remove this guilt by seeding. "Your not a taker you give back to society with your data." Leachers become seeders and guilt is "removed" from the society. This is part of the reason some file sharers come off as so self righteous. This is not unique to file shares. The same effects occur in organized crime, Wall Street, and currupt goverments.

    I have never understood the fuss about Linux on PS3. There are thousands of devices you can install Linux on. Most of them are better envinronments than what Sony initially offered on the PS3. And its not like we don't know why Sony removed the feature. It was being used to hack the system. These hacks are already being used to make copies of PS3 games.

    Swiping, longpresses, and pinch to zoom are not natural deeply rooted behavior patterns. Nor is controlling the movement of object by tilting another object.

    They are not considering getting rid of the Yellow pages, just the White pages. I am also guessing that the add revenue for the Yellow pages has declined over the last decade do to competition with Internet sources.

    I don't think you understand what she and her lawyers are after. The last thing they want is for the Jury to find her innocent or award a reasonable amount of damages. The more absurd the amount the better. They need the award to be absurdly high in order for an federal appeals judge to rule the law is in unconstatutional. Thats the end game here.

    Well the current purpose of the patent system is to provide work and revenue for lawyers. Its a way for them to attach themselves like parasites to the software buisness.

    I agree, but is this the best way to get them to yearn? "Two students tackled the bugs and refinements, two the graphics and sounds and the remaining student got to work typing the program onto other machines so testing could get going. " One or more of these students is bored out their mind.

    Sounds like a waste of time. This kind of course is going to teach more bad practices than good ones. It is also likely to kill interest in computer science for some students.

    It is not terribly hard to keep a sort by name. Basically you strip out all characters you can't sort and up-shift everything. Then you never show the modified name to the user. You just use it for sorting on user interfaces, finding potential duplication of data, indexing the database for search, and interactions with legacy systems.

    I know someone at a big firm and they have been in parsing hell for the last two months. They have legacy data for mailing addresses. A 6 by 30 character blob of text. From this they are trying to parse out First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, suffix, prefix, organization names, street address, city, state, zip, attention, in care of, and post office box.

    Yes but you must realize that no one reads software patents. The average software developer writes thousands of lines of code a year. They aren't checking to see if their code infringes a patent. There is no cheep quick process to check if your code infringes a patent.
