I personally that any country that will turn off communications is a dictatorship. No matter what side of the aisle one falls on, I cannot believe that anyone thinks it is a good idea to give that amount of power to the government. I cannot think of one good or positive reason for this. I only see nefarious people shutting it down to disrupt the dissemination of information that said people wish to keep under wraps. Anyone who wants that scares me. It scares me that it is even being asked for.
Absolutely. I got my first pair of BiFocals about 8 weeks ago. I wish I could afford some of these cool gadgety new glasses as at least it would give some cool factor to the situation.
Yep, just like when prohibition ended the organized crime behind it had to find other ways to make money. I am not saying they will go away, but it would sure take the wind out of their sails, at least for a while. You don't see anyone smuggling in alcohol from Mexico do you?
I was thinking how cool this is until I saw that it does not allow any gameplay. Shoot, even if it allowed you to play PS1 games on the phone it would be cool. There were some great games. It would be a good revenue stream for them as well. lots of us would like to play some of the cool old games.
This lets you show your friends what you did while they were out with actual girls while you sat home all weekend, and message them, which you already do with 22 other programs. Seems like it is a redundant purpose. Too bad. Could have been cool.
I'm sure that this fine upstanding young man was just doing it to show off and demonstrate that he was powerful. Marking his turf. Kind of like when my wife's chihuahua pisses around the house. The funny thing is that the chihuahua has more class than this looser.
They should legalize the LETHAL RESPONSE security system from ROBO COP as that would allow the city to cut back on the police services with fewer bad results...
"YOU PEOPLE"? Hey now. Take a breath. I have insurance, and I pay PLENTY for it. I take responsibility, and I don't even need big brother government to make me. You need to take a breath, and a look in the mirror if you think you need the government to force people to make every move and decision. If that is what you need and want, I am sure that you can go to one of MANY countries that are happy to do those things for you. You have PLENTY of choices if that is what you desire. Please, feel free to explore and even exercise one of these options. As for me, I don't need a babysitter.
While the preliminary results are somewhat limited, what a facinating idea. It continues to astound me how versatile our brains really are. The original internet, capable of rerouting around problems.
I want one that makes me run faster and jump higher. Like those suits in Avatar.
What a well thought out, logical and reasonable idea. Thats why the government will never go for it. If you want those ideas to ever see the light of day you had better find a way to give renumeration to the congress people and senators who would carry it forward, as that seems to be the only way things currently get done.
This is still EXPONENTIALLY less expensive than insurance. Especially with the recent jumps in premiums (arguabley brought on by this program)
$750 seems like a bargain for many people. Fortunately I am working for an employer who has better benifits than my last, but a year ago I was out $1300 a month for health insurance. And if you are self employed, WOA NELLY!!!
Not unless you buy a car and choose to drive said vehicle on public roads. Driving is not a right, so there are some conditions put on it. Stop driving, cancel your insurance, and see if you get a FINE. You are not forced.
In other countries (England springs to mind) you can inccour all court expenses, including the fees and attorney costs to the opposing party if your motion or case is determined to be frivolous and or without merrit. Would likely make one think twice about stupid lawsuits.
...welcome our new social media overlords
Ran out of coal.

Let's light this candle...
Oh, wait...

I would like to be the first to welcome our new quantum teleporting overlords...
At least we can all be grateful that the picture didn't roll around in the capsule and blow the hatch prematurely...
Maybe someday Unicef will get into the cell phone business, but until then Google are the people to see...
It's DAVE not DUSTIN. lol

Good thing that using the Chinese to build EVERYTHING will not lead to any problems or security issues for us...
I for one would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new touchless overlords...

Where is the obligatory reference to MOLLER that usually accompanies this type of story? LOL
Stopping master card for 2 hours, 200 million dollars
Stopping a throwback from the 14th century from getting nuclear weapons...
PRICELESS
To whoever did this, My hat is off to you. Nicely done. The world owes you a great debt.
This is incredible. Now they don't even need to buy matches. Just a few keystrokes, and it is like the book never existed. Doesn't even leave ashes...
Quite sad.
