Actually, during the 90's, Iron Maiden kind of sucked. When Bruce Dickenson left, they they weren't as good without him. And his solo career got nowhere without them. In 2000, he returned though, and ever since they have been even better than they were in the 80's. Now, over their past 4 albums, they have shown that they are one of the best Prog-metal around. It's been a great comeback

Go read Nancy Kress' novel Beggars in Spain. She had an answer to that question, and probably not not one you would like. When those in power realized they no longer needed the underclasses, the lower classes were eliminated. With prejudice, outside the US, at least. Seems grimly plausible to me.

Never understood this line of thought. Sure, hardware will cost a little more on the PC side, but the cost of software will more than make up for that over time. When I can get a PC title for 25% the price of its console equivalent this argument makes no sense. In the next generation of consoles, software prices are getting a sharp increase, thus making an even better argument for PC gaming

This is what I think Blizz/Activision will say if you complain. What are you gonna do, go play another game? Even though they are losing subscribers, they have enough that they really don't care. I don't play WoW, nor do I even like it, but I have some relatives who are so addicted to it that Blizzard executives could break into their house and rape their children, and they would give it a pass. This is meaningless on that scale.

So you are saying that Rosa Parks and Gandhi were both wrong? I mean, they were anarchistic lawbreakers, right? That the Jews Germany and political dissidents in Russia should have shut up with their whinging and worked within the system? Sometimes some selective anarchy is a great tool for change, when there are no other avenues. There are times when a government will not change no matter what, because the people support it, even when it is wrong. Hell, Plato recognized this in The Republic. Sometimes, to do what is right you simply have to break the law.

You are quite right, the world is not a black and white place. Not all laws are right, and few leaders are good. Often, our leaders don't care if the laws are right, they simply want to use the laws for their own advantage. And changing leaders generally doesn't affect this
