I have to disagree with this.

Although your statement is the patriotic one, the reason they attacked in the first place is because of the US' foreign policy in the middle east. It has nothing to do with our rights. If we were a totalitarism with the same policy, they'd still try the same thing (but, most likely, fail miserably because terrorism only really works in a democratic environment).

Now, before I'm flamed, realize that I don't want my rights taken away from me, either. But not because I think the terrorists will win.

The only way the terrorists will win is if we get all our influence out of the middle east for the sole reason that we don't want them to terrorize us again.

As you've probably read in the other articles (and which will eventually bleed into this article) is how people are shunning others comparing this to Pearl Harbor and war.

I am going to agree with Jon, here (gasp!). This is how War is played in the twenty-first century. No one has the power to have a conventional war with the US, so it must result in terrorism and guerilla warfare. Its not pretty, but this is how war has evolved.

Your first reaction is to use our strength to fight back, but as the days start to come between present and this tragedy, you'll find out how terrorist cells work.

Their is very little communication between the cells, and the cells are very sparcely located. Result? Very difficult to find everyone in the organization, and very difficult to march an army in to win the war.

We are at the beginning of a difficult war. Please don't get me wrong, I'd like to see each of these cowardly terrorist recieve slow and painful deaths, but we must be smart, rational, and alert to win.

  15. Re:Predictions on U.S. Attack -- More Updates · · Score: 1

Terrorism only survives in a democracy.

    Why? Think about this:
Terrorism happens in Cuba. Anyone that has the slightest reason to do it, anyone near the scene of the crime, and anyone suspected all will be executed. No more terrorism.

Its "due process" that allows terrorism to strive. So the ultimate way to eliminate terrorism is to create a police state.

So, the question is, do you want to fear terrorists or the government?

The ultimate goal is to strive for the middle ground.

No, the message is clear. This was a terroristic strike to show the terrorists have power over the US by striking at a non-military target that affects *THOUSANDS* of innocent people, and destroys world-wide financial institutions.

If it was this "Red Army", I suspect they would of attacked a military base that house nuclear weapons, or some nuclear manufacturer. We, also, would of recieved a video shortly after the strike announcing their reasoning.

The only thing puzzling was why they went after the pentagon, other than to put the military in disarray. I believe the Pittsburgh airliner that went down was also going to hit the pentagon. Nothing in Pittsburgh would have the impact like the pentagon and WTC towers.
