It's very nice that they keep inventing all these new technologies, but when are they actually going to build one into a product? We've been hearing about Holographic storage since about 1994 now, they keep achieving higher and higher amounts of storage space - but never releasing a product.
I'd rather hold 200Gb in my hand now then wait for 200Tb to be developed (and subsequently never released).
Excuse me? You're using a P133 as an example of an old machine? When you've worked with linux/VAX, you may post about this topic again. One hundred and thirty-three MEGAhertz? I'll be lucky...
No, the reason that you had to download something was not because MDK tripped up in their packaging and forgot to include files, it was a licencing issue with the modem's uploadable firmware which was released under a "free to use but don't distribute" licence. Fool.
Fool, support for the Alcatel Stingrays was introduced with 8.1 - proof being onje of my clients has been using it since it was released as their main gateway, no probs.
A power supply's current rating is simply a measure of the maximum current its components will supply before they break due to overwarming; therefore a higher rated power supply will still have to dissipate the same amount of energy internally and will run at the same temperature, if not fractionally higher due to its bigger componentry with their correspondingly worse thermal conduction properties.
Want a silent supply? Adapt the output of one from a Mac Performa. Or buy a Cube or iMac.
It's simple really, you want decent hardware, buy decent hardware! Disclaimer: I am not a Mac Fanatic, I do not own my Performa 630TV any more - tis DEC all the way baby...

Hello? Haven't you guys ever heard of a Nokia 7110? There's even a Quicktime movie showing how the 7110's NaviRoller works.
Dude, if you're going to have "big iron" then you're going to want a few 3-phase drops in there too. However, the presence of equipment using 3-phase may slightly affect the iccle widdle signals on them tiny svideo and speaker cables. Plan for seperate rooms, my friend.
VOLTAGE DOES NOT MOVE. Voltage is a measurement of the potential difference between two places, like gravitational potential energy. If you run up a hill, the gravitational potential does not flow up the hill, or into you! It just gets bigger because of the difference in height.
A bigger voltage lets more CURRENT flow through a given resistance. Your college education is obviously worth less than you thought...
Homer tries to dial the plant to warn of impeding nuclear outgas:

"The fingers you have used to dial with are too fat. Please mash the keypad to order a dialing wand."
all channels? um, in the UK alone what about BBC one and two, ITV and Channel 4? Oh yeah, we have channel5 as well, but that's not worth the time of day... Anyway, these are all plain ol' VHF broadcasts, you can't get ITV on sat at all, and these are the channels with the most quality programmes, the public-funded ones. And that's just the UK.
seemingly relevant? what?! the guy's asking for information on upgrading the HD in his nettwork-attached storage box, not for local domain search engines! you ass.
>Be careful though, it's in danish
What's wrong with it being in Danish? Has the danish language suddenly become volatile when viewed by a non-dane? Is this another security feature -
YOU ARE NOT AUTHORISED TO VIEW THIS LANGUAGE
YOU WILL NOW SELF-DESTRUCT.
What if some of our readers can actually parse danish themselves? You need a disclaimer on your disclaimer: "Be careful though, it's in danish* (does not apply if you can read Danish.)"
Of course, the other possibility is that the cost of a pay call will go up. Some phones already meter local calls by the minute. But that's a spiral to doom; make the call too expensive and more people will spring for a cell phone, usage will go down more, you will have to jack the price again, etc.
um, since when have local calls NOT been charged for? IMHO it's about 10pence for 20secs, after the 20 start charge British Telecom introduced because of waning profits.
Aye, it sucked, but in a good way. It was mindless entertinment for an ill mate and his bunck of friends. It was good in the way that it was so bad that it was kitch-ly good.

yes but then you break up, and every now and again she's there, on your main MUD. Grr. It didn't work for me.
The unit's screen can display JPG and GIF graphics as well...
More ways to carry pr0n round in my pocket! Yay for technology!
Then go back to Windows95 with IE4. Not a hard descision.
You've gotta love this guy's sig, it's in such harmony with the post.
Hmm, let me think about this one for a second. Ah yes. Maybe because he could be french?
...you want an alternative to the All-encompassing Worldwide Mega-Conglomerate Entertainment Industry?
Do what I did: get a girlfriend.
No, it wasn't sarcasm. Sheesh.

Since when did he say anything about Powermacs?
I couldn't fit that where my computer is now. And I'm pretty sure my girlfriend wouldn't let me if I could :) hehe
My girlfriend lets me keep a VAX 11/730.

Right, I *know* this is redundant but as this is the first Wrong comment to reach +3 I will explain.
He did not install linux on his machine. He is using QNX.
He has got a shell running in QNX. It is natural for an OS with a GUI to put a title bar on its windows, is it not?
He got the shell running by adding a new web-page to the CF card which holds the Audrey OS, which had a link when clicked on bought up the shell.

ahhh, then you are excused and I apologise. I've not seen bugs like this for a loooong time...
