It's very nice that they keep inventing all these new technologies, but when are they actually going to build one into a product? We've been hearing about Holographic storage since about 1994 now, they keep achieving higher and higher amounts of storage space - but never releasing a product.

I'd rather hold 200Gb in my hand now then wait for 200Tb to be developed (and subsequently never released).

A power supply's current rating is simply a measure of the maximum current its components will supply before they break due to overwarming; therefore a higher rated power supply will still have to dissipate the same amount of energy internally and will run at the same temperature, if not fractionally higher due to its bigger componentry with their correspondingly worse thermal conduction properties.

Want a silent supply? Adapt the output of one from a Mac Performa. Or buy a Cube or iMac.

It's simple really, you want decent hardware, buy decent hardware!

VOLTAGE DOES NOT MOVE. Voltage is a measurement of the potential difference between two places, like gravitational potential energy. If you run up a hill, the gravitational potential does not flow up the hill, or into you! It just gets bigger because of the difference in height.

A bigger voltage lets more CURRENT flow through a given resistance. Your college education is obviously worth less than you thought...

Of course, the other possibility is that the cost of a pay call will go up. Some phones already meter local calls by the minute. But that's a spiral to doom; make the call too expensive and more people will spring for a cell phone, usage will go down more, you will have to jack the price again, etc.

um, since when have local calls NOT been charged for? IMHO it's about 10pence for 20secs, after the 20 start charge British Telecom introduced because of waning profits.
