The problem with my inferior school system is that all the extra credit stuff was just more useless garbage.
Not true. This past weekend I was at a star party for my local club and there were about 20 total students up there doing extra credit work. My guess is that they were about 14-15 years of age. I got to help about a dozen of them myself, I did some basic stuff like the moon and Jupiter for them to see and they seemed pretty interested. Most of them asked questions about my telescope; what kind was it, some basic facts and figures about how it worked.
It was good to see some kids who weren't just running around the observing field like idiots even if it was for extra credit.
Makes more sense than being proud of a sporting team, when it comes right down to it. Using your talents to "discover" such a wonder is a fantastic thing.
Get a clue to how old this design is. I wouldn't be surprised if there are even older ones out there, this is the one I know of. I still own my TC1100. It's a bit on the slow side now but it's still a good machine.
Just because it's books doesn't make it worth 6 films. Not to argue against my own point that there could have been more to LotRs but your metric just doesn't make sense.
Even so, if we were to use your standards that means that Jackson's project can be 3 movies just fine since it's really not The Hobbit anymore but The Hobbit with other Tolkien lore.
Agreed. There were great parts of the LotRs that were left out. It didn't really bother until I realized how far off the path Jackson went with the ents. Cutting something out for time and pacing is one thing but to add something that didn't exist for comic relief? Come on now. LotRs could have been 4-5 films without any of Jackson's added crap.
If I start iTunes I find books about selling on Amazon.
I'm not saying the story isn't honest I'm just saying that there are plenty of Amazon resources available on iTunes that seems to offset what is being presented here.
This while it has eaten up much of the PC gaming space, cannibalizing another MS business end.
Aside from the OS a machine runs, MS has precious little at stake when it comes to PC gaming. And I don't know of a single Xbox user who isn't using Windows and every one of them own PCs. MS lost nothing to the gaming crowd with the Xbox.
It's just a tool. I own 4 "assault" weapons and I can guarantee you that most people who will ever read this comment have committed more acts of violence during their lunch break today than have ever been committed with my firearms.
Targeting the tool and not the action is foolishness.
What are you eating if you're only paying 3.30 dollars a day for food but you're not cooking?
I stand by you people who are claiming that you're not paying 400 dollars a month for food because it is an outrageous number but I'm guessing that 2 burritos, a nachos and a coke is 5 bucks at Taco Bell. I find it hard to believe you can eat without cooking for 3.30.
Maybe so but I like a lot of artists who have to be as impressive in concert as watching someone man a lightboard ata high school play. Some music just doesn't translate well into the concert medium. For that fact alone I won't pirate music.
False. Ken Thompson used the term "hacking" in matters of security exploits in 1983. I wouldn't be surprised if there are references prior to that as well.
From what I've read the magazine wasn't pulled because of a title. It was pulled because it detailed potential criminal activity. I've seen tons of magazine that mention "hack" that never get pulled.
I'm not saying that what they did was right, I'm just saying that you're over simplifying the matter.
My working C=64 ain't got nothing on this fine machine.
I often wonder at the posts the look like something being read on a numbers station... is it a secret message or is someone just bored, maybe crazy?

Manned exploration of the sun. Now that would be bold.
Google Maps on the iPhone wasn't really that good in the first place.

Since when has education become a competition?
I'm going off your claim of:
Other brands of laptops last a couple years at most. It's not unheard of for a Mac notebook to last 5+ years and still enjoy daily use by its owner.
If you want to go on price, sorry but Apple doesn't make a cost effective laptop. How can we make an honest comparison?
Making products that last as long as possible does more for the environment than any specific "green" manufacturing process.
My Lenovo does both and it does it in spades.
My understanding is that Microsoft has a pretty good track record when it comes down to acceptance of homosexuals. Is this wrong?
My 6 year old ThinkPad says differently.

But I'll never know by living, only my dying will tell.
Your Reality Distortian Field Generator(tm) is going haywire
Really?
Come on guys, a little research goes a long way.

Thank their government for taking risks of this nature with tax payer money.
Welcome to an election year.

I don't think you understand what a Libertarian really is.
