The worst dub I have ever heard was in a live action movie: When I bought the first Mad Max movie on DVD, and started to watch it the default soundtrack was dubbed to American English. I'm not a native English speaker, but even with the original Australian soundtrack I could understand what they said even without subtitles.
I got 3D-goggles when I bought my old GeForce (the first generation of GeForce) card. Although I have to admit it was probably some extra stuff added by Asus.
Heh, I did something like that too once. Had a monitor that had a top resolution of 800x600, but I thought it was a little to low so I tweaked the settings so i could have something like 900x675.
28 MPH is not fast enough for realistic street travel.
I don't know about the US, but most European cities have speed limits of 50 km/h (around 31 mph), so it's not that far of. Actually, I would not mind this type of car getting popular, since it would lower the air and noise pollution in crammed cities quite considerably.
Bankrupt people can not pay their fees to the record companies, and neither can they (or will, probably) buy new music. It has been said before, but it seems like the record companies are shooting themselves in both their feet.
Yes, Turkey has done some bad stuff and killed quite a lot of people, but never in the name of religion. Turkey is almost aggressively secular. The military is known to step in and take control whenever any religion gets to much power. There is at the moment 86 people in a single trial for treason because the tried to perform a coup against the government, which is run by an openly Islamic party (elected in a free and open election). But then the grandparent is also wrong in calling Turkey a Muslim country, the currently ruling party still tries to keep Turkey a secular country.
Today, the majority of people who claim they can't afford health care actually could if they were more reasonable about their spending choices in other areas.
Yes, like spending less on food maybe? There are lot of people who can barely afford to feed themselves or their children, maybe you have any ideas on how they should handle their economy to afford good health care?
I ask, like the grand parent, why would the government do this? What would make them the most money: run this all by themselves (uncluding ISP services); Or rent out the bandwidth in the fibers to whatever company wants to use it? The second alternative have been used here in Sweden with great success.
I don't think I've ever burned my hand on a toaster..
Might it have something to do with you knowing that it is hot, i.e. using your common sense? I will probably be modded flamebait, bit it seems to me that most people in the US of A simply have lost their common sense. While having non-hot toasters, do you also wait with getting the bread from it? Because, you know, it might be hot and you can feel a burning sensation? Well if you do, the obvious choice is of course to sue the maker of the toaster!
and to make reforms to safeguard against an incident like this from happening within the new standards body
I thought there already existed safeguards within the ISO/IEC framework, but that they basically were sidestepped. Whats to stop a new organization from doing it again?

It's been a sweet ride, but goodbye Slashdot! See you on the other side!
Only one or two parties a year? Dude, you really need to get in more!

Also, it seems that Apple is giving in to the labels wishes to use differentiated pricing.

No, because that was a case of national security to find terrorists.

Caps seems to be common in the UK, but I don't think it common in continental Europe. And no caps to be found anywhere in Sweden.
Well, there is a world outside of theUS (or Australia for that matter) where Internet usage is mostly unmetered.
Unless they specifically state that it is the connected time that is unlimited, I would still call it consumer fraud.
Well who knows?
By the way, I like the age rating: May contain bloody violence. I guess bloodless violence is ok then.
Well in the olden days many people were named after their occupation. Maybe this guys forefathers were masters of papers?

I just downloaded the Descent and Descent 2 package, and yes they do indeed use DOSBox.
Seems to me like open and free software managed pretty well in previous downturns. Why should this one be any different?
At least according to The Pirate Bay.
Well, some people apparently can: http://pileborg.org/arrow/ass.gif

I hope I'm not the only one misreading the title as "Badness gene found".

And if you zoom out, and know it's there, you can actually see the rift. Or maybe I'm just imagining it all, and need todays first cup of coffee.
