Yes, but tyrants in these countries were supposed to do it. However, US states freedom of speech as its most sacred principle, yet its government follows other oppressive regimes. It's funny how US government declares those countries undemocratic evil "enemies", yet does the exact thing to its own people.

The world comes closer and closer to the "1984", soon there will be three empires without any difference between them.

  2. Oh boy, here we go on U.S. Congress Authorizes Offensive Use of Cyberwarfare · · Score: 5, Insightful

The nationalization and segmentation of Internet has begun. It was a nice place with no borders and equal for everyone. But of course, old power-greedy bastards has awoken and now want to subjugate everyone under their rule, claim "territories" that they own and build armies to fight with each other. And common folks as always are blinded with "patriotism" propaganda, while really are just used as a resource for some self-proclaimed sociopathic "leaders". Since the dawn of ages. Humanity, will you ever learn?

I think Germany is affected too, due to its censorship laws (no human violence in games). I heard they have special editions of Left4Dead and others, and you cannot play other versions.

Like most addictions, the addict themselves are hurt, and those around them also.

I fail to see your point. If you're comparing porn to drug addiction, well... Drug addiction is only bad because it makes addicts to turn violent and commit crimes in order to pay for the dose, they become dangerous to other people. Other than that, you cannot force people to stop doing things, even if you think it's hurting them.

Being somewhat close to one of the Russian space projects, I can say it's not the funding that is the problem. It's that everyone care only about sucking as much money as possible from different sources and getting away with it. Burying several billion $ project in space is a perfect example of this attitude. You'll see, no one will be held responsible for this, it's just *puff*, and all the money has sadly disappeared with no result because of some unfortunate event.

Whenever you hear about another ambitious Russian project, remember: science in Russia is dead. Period.

In fact I'd advise not doing any business with Russia at all.
