However, I can't try it, because I use VS 2008 at work and I cannot upgrade it. First, it's not easy to convince your boss to buy new software, especially if the old one still perfectly does its job. Second, all current projects have been being developed in VS 2008, and no one wants to bother with project update problems.

Imagine, how amazing it would be if it could also auto-complete your commands! Like your start typing P-A-S and hit Tab and it completes it to "paste"! And you could also type in "help paste" and it would show you info about this command! With such an awesome interface we don't even need buttons or menus, just an empty screen with input prompt!

But you didn't really buy it, you licensed the use and Dell still owns it and is just loaning it to you, and can legally tell you how you are and aren't allowed to use it. (or cancel your license for any reason at any time, and demand you return it)
They could also make you sign a several-year contract with ISP, like with cell-phones. And all your files and programs will be kept in the cloud, so if you fail to pay for connection - you'll loose all data. (Chrome OS for the win!). Oh, and they also own any content you produce using their connection.

It's not. The whole software 'thing' is not ruled by free market. Free market and economics assume that to make a product you have to invest resources in it (which are limited, and therefore valuable) , which makes its basic value. But if you can copy (or enhance like in this case) virtual items for zero cost - the basic cost is no longer determined by economics (maybe by something else). If it costs you nothing to enhance the product - the added value of the enhanced product will be zero. And if you charge people for nothing - it is scam.
Long story short, if you go posting about how you want to hurt X or Y, even if they're in a country the popular media has on its propaganda of evil list at the moment it is still illegal and immoral.

First, this system has distributed memory which is much harder to program than shared memory in case of AMD.
Second, MPI is not a language, it's a standard. But in terms of parallel languages it's more like an assembler: data locality and synchronization have to be managed by the programmer. So it cannot substitute high-level languages.
As to functional languages, I have no idea how information about the data locality could be extracted from the program. It's not that I doubt them, I really don't know, but would like to learn.
