The real question you should have used as a rebuttal: does the GMU "video game designer" program give its students the opportunity to CREATE a RESULT that they can use to get hired? If so, golly. If not, it's a waste of time.
If they teach enough programming skills and theory then it's fine. Actually to create anything you have to lift your ass off first, and no university will do that for you.
Those who feel the need to do more in-depth work with an object-oriented approach will have to learn C, as that's the language Mason uses for the higher-level classes.
Science always advances faster then the moral and ethics of the society.
The wonderful thing about morals is that there are so many to choose from.
But seriously, how is advancement ethics measured? How can one of them be more "moral" than the other? (Assuming both result in a sustainable society.)
On second thought: I said all men were equal. That doesn't include woman.:) And even modern states "discriminate" based on citizenship while having "all humans are equal" thing in their constitution.
From wikipedia:"Socialism is a political philosophy that encompasses various theories of economic organization based on either public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources."
Socialism is a one party system, halfway to communism. That's how socialist leaders defined it.
Handing out monthly paychecks is etatist, by definition.
You're so called conservative think-tanks tried to redefine socialism, with seemingly much success. (Because it has a negative connotation.) Socialist doesn't mean the same thing in the US and Europe.
If there aren't enough qualified people the country will have a hard time building a prospering economy. If education is fucked the whole country is fucked.
Content is king. The medium is irrelevant. If the books needed aren't available in XO then it doesn't solves the problem. Were not speaking here some run of the mill generic textbooks, but specialized ones for which there might not be substitute. On the other hand: isn't the XO a luxury item in itself?
Watch the movie "Latya 4-Ever" as example. I found this movie shocking because I didn't think such thing could happen within the EU Socialist Paradise (people without homes or jobs are supposed to be cared for). It's a bit like the kettle calling the pot dirty.
Maybe because the EU isn't socialist? Hey, what about learning a bit of history? (Soviet Union and the Eastern bloc were socialist.) France and Scandivia are socialdemocratic.
... and nothing I've seen to this time would even hint at the merest possibility of anything that could possibly make interstellar travel "cheap and affordable" my mere civilizations throughout the cosmos
Meat - This is an argument that simply defies logic.... that somehow the aliens are going to "eat" us.
Assuming that they're capable of digesting Earth-organisms... Earth predators can digest other animals because they're built from the same amino-acids, their DNA have the same building blocks etc. Predator and prey can only evolve in the same ecosystem. (Assuming that many other "DNA encoding" methods are possible.)

If you said CS I would've totally agreed, but Liberal Arts? WTF?
Going into a career path because "there's money there" is a great way to become terrible at whatever it is you chose to do.
That's how most of our economists choose their profession. If I wanted to be cynical I would say, hence the crisis.

You mean C++
If you were an economist you knew, that we cannot measure the value of things that are not paid for. (It doesn't mean it's worthless.)
Well if not, you can still threaten them with excluding from WTO. It worked with Pirate Bay.
That was the demo. They're still charging for their full games.
And outsource environmental and labour law to prohibit unfair competition. /ducks
Ok, I'm not a native speaker and I misanderstood.
they hate ANYONE that doesn't actively join their crusade
I could have said the same thing about US 9/12.
I'm just playing the burocrat ;)

Assuming their two heads can agree ...
On the other hand society already interferes in the relationship of consenting adults where polygamy is banned.
Assuming that their two heads can agree ...
Now I can be twice as clever. Or I will be able to go slacking with the current one, while the other studies for exams.

Ok, I might remember wrong, but in XVIII century America it surely was so.
But hey! That's racist!

Have you tried free-market economics?

In Greek societies all humans were equal before the law. However slaves weren't considered to be humans, just talking tools.
