Most of the language learning software I have used is really unacceptable, and this includes software (for Mac and Windows) at university. Then again, the software I have has been cheap and you get what you pay for. I was so fed up with the unusefulness of the software, I decided to spend money at university and learn the language. I think I have only had the fortunate experience ofusing one piece of useful software for German (for Power Mac), which accomapnies the text I was using however I couldn't purchase the software myself, I think it must have come with the instructors edition or something.
One of the things I am surprised about with the multimedia explosion is that language learning software has only gotten glossier, but anot anymore useful.
yeah I can read when I dreamng. Althought I wou\ldn't have thought about it until now. Last night I had a terrible tdream that my girlfriends' brother sold my anime collection to a crusty second hand comic shop. I could read the title on the cassettes. I was livid.
What I would like to know is if you dream in colour or black and white. I was told that apparently you dream in b/w, but I seem to dream in colour. And what abut you multi lingual folk, and dominate language you dream in? I can never remember what language I speaking in my dreams.
Camera's in race cars are obviously not a new thing, but it is somewhat novel to have it running 24 hours over the net. What I think is more novel is Virtual Spectator which was used for the Louis Vuitton and America's Cup.
During the America's Cup races, you could visualise, online and via GPS, the co-ordinates of each boat in relation to each other, the paths which they took. Seeing is really believing at http://www.virtualspectator.com They seem to be mainly focused on yachting at the moment, but I understand Formula1 Racing may be using Virtual Spectaort in the future
Learn some physiology. Nitrogen is a 'filler'. breathing pure oxygen will kill you, grated oxygen is the only thing useful humans get out of air. And contrary to popular belief, the mechanincs of breathing is a response to the need to remove carbon dioxide, not for the need of oxygen.
gadgets which evolve, like you say the vacuum tube to the transistor, but also, the telegraph to the telephone, and radio to television. As for the electric hand dryer, not exactly a good choice, but it's certainly more hygenic than a grubby towel. wait, hmmm, memories of Madonna drying her face in 'Desperatly seeking Susan', gotta love that:P~~~
did anyone actually debate this a thousand years ago? I think the tedious few that argued the new millennium started in 1001 were probably beheaded, and bloody rightly so too.
but I hate summer anyway. I never usually take much notice of the weather and weather focasts, but sure would have been nice to have spring weather for the new year. I hate summer weather anyway. Back some what on topic, apparently NZ will change into the new millenium one and a half hours early than NZST. One hour is accounted for because we are in daylight savings time, and the other half hour, as my father was just telling me has something to do with WWII. I didn't understand...more like I wasn't quite listening, I was playing AOEII, but I think that half hour is a load of bollocks, so ignore.
it's grey in Auckland, and it was raining, but it doesn't surprise me, heck it's Auckland. The Chatham Islands looked wonderful yesterday (on the TV). They get the first rays tomorrow morning. Oh well, 9 hours to go...
hmmm, I think the original definitions of first second and thrid worlds have been somewhat distorted. I had thought that first world meant a country was under a capitaist system, second world under a communist regime, and third world has neither politcal alignment. These days first world seems to mean developed, and third world means poor country.
I'm in NZ, leading the world to the next millenium. As I type this, it's 12noon, 12 hours to go, but bloosdy heck, I need an umbrella. It's bloody raining here, and it's supposed to be summer.
Well suppressing ovulation is one way, and indeed sometimes these pills are used as regular contraceptives for a small group of women for various reasons. The other mde of actions is if fertilisation has occured, is the morning after pill (or more to be more PC, Emergency Contraceptive Pill or ECP), makes the uterius wall unsuitable for implantation. This is I guess is what puts the ECP on the fine line of an abortifacient and contraceptive
The day/morning after pill is simply a higher strength oral contraceptive, and is really only effective three days after the sexual event has occured. RU486 is not the day after pill, it is a prostaglandin analogue and would more be correctly classed as an abortifacient, and thus has the advantage of being useful after the three days which the day after pill would not be effective.
..introns. These are base pairs which don't get expressed, however they still are important in how exons are expressed.
There I've explained that in a sentence even a fool can undertand. Junk DNA my adenosine. Either sloppy journalism or else the researcher explaining this to the journalist was sloppy.
For Japanese text, I use a third party program called Translingo http://www.translingo.com. It trasnlates right off NS or IE. Unfortunately it's crippled after 30 days, unless you decided to purchase the full version.
1) my friend came back from Taiwan two weeks ago, he has said since the initial quake and when he left, there have been 10,000 (true) after shocks since. After shocks and earth quakes in their sense may nto be the same, but the consequences are.
2) quit bitching about RAM proces. Swollow it and think of increased prices as a part of a contribution into rebuilding Taiwan.
I guess my real gripe is Sony not being able to supply the correct video cable to the market. I am willing to bet in New Zealand, there are more S-video capable television sets out there than Euro-SCART

Actually, the Playstation 2 Machine does have a PS2 on one of the sides, so there you go.

Not that I don't believe that it could take Windows NT 49 minutes to reboot, I'd just like to see it.
that would really be like watching paint dry...or watching the America's Cup races
if Ultima Online will still lag with a T1 connection...kindof an expensive way to find out...

Hey Twinpotm have you notice how the price of Multi system hi-fi videos have dropped in price by 50% over the past 4 years?
