  1. Re:WEsttown on FIRST Robotics Championship Underway · · Score: 1

Yeah... Except with a lowercase E.

We did a better job at drexel, seeding at 9th place. We actually won the "Judges Award" at Anapolis, not the "Best Rookie Team" (which I don't think exists anyway.) At Drexel, we won the "Best Seeded Rookie Team", and the "Rookie All Star."

Here in Atlanta, we were in the Newton division. We seeded 21st.

  10. Re:comparing the wrong things on Audacity 1.2.0 Released · · Score: 1

It depends on your definition of multitrack.

Its not a audio sequencer like Ardour is. You can have multiple tracks, but only one sample, region--whatever you want to call it, per track.

It is enough to crossfade songs into eachother, to add voice overs, but not enough to make music, IMO.

No its not a sequencer, but you could argue about the multitrack part. It does a lot more than Soundforge does in terms of multitrack.

Oh, and Ardour can be COMPLETELY graphical if you use qjackctl. Makes configuring it a whole lot simpler too.

I don't always agree with ESR...on a lot of things...

But I have to side with him on this one. Phipps arguement isn't valid at all.

Phipps says Sun is taking risks. WHAT RISKS?

Just because Java Desktop RUNS on linux, does NOT make it open source.

And this just goes to show that they do NOT understand Open Source, as the responce suggests.

ESR wasn't comparing Java to perl/python, but suggesting that we would be limited to those if Sun does not open up Java.

But yeah, the thing that ticks me off the most is that they say they understand Open Source.
