That's like saying Norm Abrams does not know how to build anything with hand tools because he also uses power tools. Just because someone uses a tool (Dreameaver) does not automaticaly mean they do not know how to do it also by hand. If you knew anything about Dreamweaver MX it has standards checking built in, accessibility checking and XHTML checking. The editor tool is very nice and the site management is one of the best. One does not have to use the WYSYWIG part to get a lot out of the software.
I was refering to the scripting and/or other methods of embeding fonts. Not using CSS to tell the browser what fonts to use. Fonts should only be specified with CSS. As for mouseover effects I use the CSS hover. I never use gif text. My pages are raw, standard XHTML and all presentation is done with CSS, preferably several style sheets for the user to chose from. I fully support Web Standards and user accessibility. I make sure my pages validate XHTML and pass the Bobby 508.
True there are tools. But embeded fonts in Web sites are bad for end users. But there are those print designers that try and make Web sites that "have to look exactly the way they want - no matter what" that ignore standards and usability for everyone. But their site shore is "1337" though.
I too am a Web site builder and I make sure my sites are valid XTHML, valid CSS and Bobby approved. Why? Because I know how and I respect my users, all of em not just the IE users.
I will admit Windows is a poor choice to put in a car. But you need to think of the design and build phase of a car. I read something about this awhile back. It takes 4-5 years to concept, design, and build a prototype. They cannot say "Let's design the car to use an operating system from the future." They need to pick one and work with it from the start. I think a Linux or Unix based product would have been better as the future upgrades on some distros is not so drastic as say Win98 to W2k or XP. But to design a car around WIn98 then upgrade the whole OS for each upgrade would be silly.
The best I ever managed was finishing level 9 game B on the original Game Boy (I think that's right). Anyway when it was finished the 9 Russian guys would dance around on the screen.
Personally I could give a shit what the average Wal-Mart(not Wallmart or WalMart) shopper buys. These are available at walmart.com the web site not the store! Its not for your average white-trash, NASCAR fan to buy. They'll get the HP-in-a-box they sell at the STORE. These are probably going to be someone's second computer anyway.
I can't remember the level settings but I remember playing original Tetris on the original Gameboy until it ended with the 9 Russian guys dancing. I haven't played the game in years though.
I used to play a lot of Asteroids on the 2600 and the score would roll around 9999(9?). We used to see who could roll the score the most times.
Damn right, and I only listen to talk-radio, no tv or movies and all my games are tic-tac-toe and hangman. I prefer magazines with no pictures. And all my food is bland and flavorless. What a wonderful world I live in.
Well not actually in the Silo. But in Wamego. I spent all of my school years there, moved away when I was 19 to go live in the big city. I remember sneaking over the fence at that place when I was a kid. Last I heard it was a giant LSD lab. Kinda wacky.
And I suppose you think your trolling on Slashdot is a great benifit to mankind. Those innocent people could give a damn about you too. Maybe we all should also sit and woe about how horrible things are. That'll show them terrorists a thing or two.

Why would you replace 366's with 550's? I bought my BP6 and two 366's over a year ago and have been running them OC'd to 550 each since then with no troubles at all. I plan on running them at least for another year. This is on my main home workstation too, a machine that gets a lot of use.
It actually has always reminded me of the DRI logo.

Fonts are not embeded into Web pages. The Web page calls the font from the clent's computer's fonts.

Here's a good explaination of the font issue and why IE is the worst for individual font sizing.
Here's another review at Evolt.
