Has anyone considered the fact that people on the network may have inadvertently downloaded trojan/spyware/malware that sniffed network traffic and reported it back to the Mothership?
http://www.eve-online.com/Does not have any problems accepting new players. All players are on one server. Everyone can see everyone (apart from WoW where people are on "shards" if I'm not mistaken)
Are you looking for a cross between Star Control 2 (role playing) and Trade Wars 2002 (market, business, pirating)? This is your game!
Considering that tech-related jobs nowadays don't grow on trees, would you really give up the opportunity to have a job you may love but get paid a little less?
You sound like a bored, out-of-work, hobbyist programmer. You can't think of a good problem looking at the market, so you beg others to come up with a(n) (original) idea for you. Hopefully somewhere down the line you're hoping to bank on the support end of this scheme?
These are not FPS, but they are good games to get into, since there aren't many players to begin with. That was *one* of your requirements, at least.
EVE:
http://www.eve-online.com/ MMORPG.
12.95/Month/USD to play IIRC. Very Babylon 5/Star Control/Trade Wars 2002 type feel with lots of group and individual play options Excellent graphics! Nice tutorial, will get you up and running in about 30 minutes. View the user-created video section branched off the main page.
Look me up - "Lochlann"
PristonTale
http://www.priston-tale.com/ - Free online fantasy MMORPG. Excellent graphics. I don't play this much, but it's definitely got something to it!
Don't.... PANIC!
:-)
Such a great demo. That and 'Timeless'.
Dr. Ann Cavoukian is Raffi Cavoukian's sister. Yes, that's right - that Canadian's children entertainer. :-)
In cases like these, you might want to give AnoNet a try.
You must be new here.
First airports, then entire cities. Who thinks that perhaps we're going to be at this stage before too long?
http://anonetnfo.brinkster.net/ will solve all your problems.

Don't we know this already? Isn't it common knowledge? Department of Redundancy calling...

Ya, right.
If I remember correctly, you cannot turn on the remote administration feature without first changing the default password.
Wouldn't that make things even marginally more secure (or obscure)?
