"According to Yahoo, the information that was stolen didn't have passwords or any other information that would allow unauthorized users to carry out user identity verification."
So yahoo is forced to disclose a data breach by law. But they add to it the nothing important was taken. I would like you to think for your self for a minute. Does a burglar go around robbing homeless peoples shopping carts? People go after what has value, and they stole something. This story should read Yahoo Japan tries desperately to cover their data breach but has to admit to loosing user ID's.
That is what I mean by not free, but I do not see anything of benefit from Google supporting a few million people that need the equivalent of "Where did my desktop shortcut's go? Now I cannot use my computer." questions answered.
In your road analogy the road is paid with tax dollars. Which equates to Google's road being paid with free content. Such as Google plus profiles, and youtube channels that drive the page views for advertising. Gmail is constantly loading text ads when you are checking your mail.
The question here is are you paying with your data? By agreeing to use Google services you enable them to analyze your data. Then they sell the analysis tools they build to businesses, and adverting companies. Nothing is free when it comes to Google.
Going off of the numbers supplied from statista.com the number of US smartphone users is around 119 million. With 2016 numbers predicted to be 192 million. I now my monthly bill for my phone, and data plan hovers around $100 dollars a month. So today that's eleven billion nine hundred million dollars a month, or around 9 billion euros. The the price change of a billion euros is small when compared to the income.
Public domain?
I understand that software that is released under license contains residual rights.
But in the speed of application development, and version changes, should there be a public domain age placed on software or web pages?
I decided to come back after a long break. Maybe a year or more. I run all of the major operating systems, desktop, and servers. I work in IT at a medium size company. And I agree that I have seen more micro$oft stories. I will make it my leisure/lunch time goal to comment, and write about tech on/. I do agree that/. has changed some, but I still find my self laughing when I read the comments. There are still insightful, and funny people around.
I do not care who makes the product. As long as the artists make a fair wage, and the content is quality. Good audio quality content is hard to find anywhere on the web. Finding quality MP3 bitrate is hard as well. That is why people turn to apple, because there is quality control. I would love to see a free software foundation built store full of high quality content that artists are proud to be a part of. Developers are artists, and like artists its had to get along, and agree on some thing so large. maybe I should go over to kick starter...... But then Stallman would get mad when the Hollywood types would want to DRM the whole business.
Interviewer: You know I really enjoy interviewing applicants for this management training course. (knock at door) Come in. (Stig enters) Ah. Come and sit down.
Stig: Thank you. (he sits)
Interviewer: (stares at him and starts writing) Would you mind just standing up again for one moment. (stands up) Take a seat.
Stig: I'm sorry.
Interviewer: Take a seat. (Stig does so) Ah! (writes again) Good morning.
Stig: Good morning.
Interviewer: Good morning.
Stig: Good morning.
Interviewer: (writes) Tell me why did you say 'good morning' when you know perfectly well that it's afternoon?
Stig: Well, well, you said 'good morning'. Ha, ha.
Interviewer: (shakes head) Good afternoon.
Stig: Ah, good afternoon.
Interviewer: Oh dear. (writes again) Good evening.
Stig:... Goodbye?
Interviewer: Ha, ha. No. (rings small hand-bell)... Aren't you going to ask me why I rang the bell? (rings bell again)
Stig: Er why did you ring the bell?
Interviewer: Why do you think I rang the bell? (shouts) Five, four, three, two, one, zero!
Stig: Well, I, I...
The idea is absurd. It's to risky that innocent people will be hurt. ANON should just go to the banks and collect the donations for the poor. or maybe travel to some poor countries to help the needy.
Dear slashdot.
Tell me how to do something I should have e\learned to do when I went to school for Network development.
Maybe people will tell me how to for it for free. This reminds me of the free loaders in a couple of my classes. How can i do x?
Do you have some code I can look at? Can you explain it to me? How can I make it do Y?
If a kid wants to learn something they will. If they really want to learn it they will read a 2000 page book on the language. What did you do with your commodore 64 ?
I had to write pages and pages of code to get a game to work.
Go back to IRC like a boss. Be real again, stop drinking the coolaid and think for yourself.
The transmetropolitan comic is great, and I am waiting for cyberpunk 2077 to be released.
Grammar is still important today. Even if it comes with a backhanded intelligence remark. I say give that man a red pen !
Bit slapping dance.

The key word is suspect here. Not a convicted or tried person that has been found guilty.
Take a screen shot of the image. Now save as 1.jpeg, and you could start a hobby of taking pictures of pictures.....
